A SIGNIFICANT PORTION of liberal America apparently feels the only way to “save our democracy” is by disenfranchising tens of millions of voters. There are movements to keep Donald Trump off the ballot in some 30 states, and congressional Democrats want to disqualify more than 125 Republican colleagues from running for reelection by claiming that the 14th Amendment to the Constitution bars anyone from holding office if they engaged in insurrection—which they define as doing what prominent Democrats like Hillary Clinton did after the 2016 election.
