Victoria Garrick on The Hidden Opponent, Self-Loving Moments, + Keeping it Real with Body-Image + Mental Health Narratives

from Your Own Magic · host Raquelle Mantra

The social stigmas surrounding 'mental health' in many cultures of society - from athletes to even spiritualists - continue to remain hidden behind many eyes and smiles. Social media has only increased the impact on most human's mental health in some shape, especially when it comes to one's physical appearance. So thankful to have Victoria Garrick on the show today to raise awareness on these issues and share her story and eye-opening perspective. Victoria is a voice for body-image advocacy and the mental health space. At USC she was a Division I volleyball player and now brings to light the many pressures athletes face through her non-profit advocacy group, The Hidden Opponent; which (btw) partnered with the late legend Kobe Bryant. Whether you're an athlete or not, Victoria's message may help you remember that whatever you are feeling is valid; and you're deserving of your own love and care.SPONSOR'S SPECIAL OFFERS herenew sponsorship system as of 2022, so the sponsor mentioned in the intro may not be in the episode or in show notes.  CONNECT WITH VICTORIAvictoriagarrick.compodcast Real Podinstagram @victoriagarrickyoutube Victoria Garricktiktok @victoriagarrick4NON-PROFITthehiddenopponent.comCONNECT WITH RAQUELLEig @raquellemantraSpotify shakti playlist (mentioned in episode)fb group your own magicJOIN THE SOUL TRIBEyourownmagic.lifeMembership site with guided meditations, journaling prompts, + more spiritual toolsSecret Facebook GroupSPONSOR'S SPECIAL OFFERS herenew sponsorship system as of 2022, so the sponsor mentioned in the intro may not be in the episode or in show notes.  Our Sponsors:* Check out BetterHelp and use my code betterhelp.com for a great deal: https://www.betterhelp.com* Check out BetterHelp and use my code betterhelp.com for a great deal: https://www.betterhelp.com* Check out Kensington Publishing: https://www.kensingtonbooks.comAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
