The three discuss her recent article on the state of college athletics, A Jim Crow Divide In College Sports, in which she argues that majority African American college football and basketball players are exploited in order to support majority white “nonrevenue” college athletes. They also discuss other themes in Jackson’s article, such as the culture of athletic departments discouraging critical thinking, why the current system contributes to the undervaluing of black lives in American society, and why many white people like the system just the way it is.
