In the dead of night as people sleep that is when the spirits creep as the bell tolls three Dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural Hey, welcome to the supernatural hour. This is your host Raven. This is Chad and it is Castle.

I think yeah He survived the Martian death blue. So that's awesome. That was bad. That was a week of a feeling okay dying All by two days of feeling okay, that's fine followed by another week of coughing my guts out until Raven's eldest son who happens to be a nurse practitioner prescribed me many many medications including the good cough syrup and then I survived the good cough syrup.

Yeah So castle starts going off too far in the weeds is that good cough syrup? Oh, no, I used it all I had to wait that's not about it. She's all I can't remember They did the trick I thought it's gonna die I was a slip three nights in recliner because I were down I get coughing so hard It's wake right up. Oh, right.

It was pretty bad. That's awful. All right. Well, welcome to the Christmas.

See supernatural hour and And if you've listened to our podcast at all ever, you know that I think that Victorians are creepy cool I kind of wish that I don't want to live in Victorian times But I would like to go and just visit there for a week maybe but there could be and Just to perform Christmas in the Victorian and Edwardian areas. We're gonna throw that in there as well They weren't just all happy happy plum pudding mistletoe all the Christmasy things There's a lot of charm. There's a lot of tradition. There's a lot of things that we've inherited from those time periods and incorporated into our Christmases But I also had tragedies murders accidents all that stuff that can really leave a lot of supernatural energy footprints If you will and back at that time Christmas was just emotionally charged and a lot of people believe that spirits from tragic holiday deaths lingered long after the season ended of those eras so tonight we're going to jump into some of those darker Christmas stories and The ghosts that we could say were born from the sorrows and creepiness of the Victorian and Edwardian times Before we jump into that Castle do tell us about Castle photo art it is Castle photo art which should be your go-to photographer, which is me.

I do family portraits I do weddings I do engagement photos. I do headshots. I do all I don't do bad war No, I don't want to see that but I do all other kinds of photography So give me a call this is actually my slow season So it's a good time other than I say it's my slow season But next week you're kind of crazy with Christmas I'm sure it's crazy for everybody but give me a call and let's get you on the schedule So castle photo art calm you can reach me there and let's take some photos of you I'll make you look beautiful unless you're not in which case I'll try also I'm so excited to talk about Christmas stuff that I forgot all about our business. We got some fun business Yeah, we do have some fun business It's not even our business But it's something we thought would be fun to do that many of us are gonna go to from advanced paranormal and wist on December 20th at the Salt Lake Masonic Temple They are going to have what they're calling odd Lake City Which is an event where they have a lot of oddities things like that.

They're gonna have food trucks They're gonna have a bunch of things they're going on from two to four o'clock You can go and get your picture taken with Krampus those kinds of things because it's a little bit odd There's gonna be a showcase of curiosities and tea Ex-taxidermy paranormal art and handmade oddities. We thought that would be kind of fun We as advanced paranormal many of the team members are gonna be going to that and meeting up there at 11 o'clock and see it It's free. This is not hosted by us. We're not involved with this in any way other than just participants But it sounded like something that would be fun to do And we figure the people that are listening to our podcast might be interested in finding out about this and going for it It's free, so we're gonna be there.

We hope to see some of you guys there too Yeah, we typically don't do anything in November or December, but we've kind of started to do a couple little things So it'll be fun. It's a little vintage Christmas market, so it'll be awesome. That was fun Okay, also a reminder of our new patron from last time. His name is Bones.

His name he goes by and We are going to I'm actually going to see him in person soon So I'm not going to mail you out your box I'm just gonna hand it to you in person and if you're a patreon We have our winter swag coming to you. What do you like to see evidence? Do you like to see us being crazy?

What do you want to see let us know I can do chat and drag So let us know and we'll get that up. All right Let's jump into what we are going to call the Miss little tonerders because that sounds cool sounds creepy because Victorians Yeah, you do that so I think one of those Victorian mysteries that people really obsessed over like a true crime drama I love watching the true crimes. I probably ouch over true crime chat He probably thinks oh, please no more true crimes my favorite but this is a story of Charles Bravo and in true Victorian fashion He was poisoned in 1876 and if you know anything about poisoning deaths, they're slow and they're agonizing and they're not pretty So how does a Christmas connection come into poisoning? Well, he met he being Charles met his wife her name was Florence Ricardo at Christmas party and This union was really kind of tense full of gossip It was just the neighborhood talk because she had a complicated past and what people would call a charming but troubled personality and one thing to know about Victorians they loved gossip and Some of her troubled past she had an affair earlier in her life with a very doctor and when it came to Florence and Charles children Some of the paternity of those children was a little bit in question.

So that that was her troubled past So after Charles died the priory which is where Charles and Florence lived was just plagued with paranormal reports servants refused to decorate Christmas tree because they said that they could see Charles shadow on the staircase When they let the candles there were guests staying there during the holidays that reported feeling someone tugging on their sleeves or Sometimes they might feel a cold breath on their neck and they would feel this there was a window that he would stand by and they would feel this cold breath on their neck when they were standing by this window and It's kind of as though the moment they met on Christmas Anchored his spirit to every Christmas afterwards because that's when he tended to show himself interesting What's the Christmas song that talks about ghost stories? Oh, we did a whole podcast on that. It just reminds me that because I mean Christmas seems like it's very anchored in this Edwardian Victorian Era you got the Christmas Carol you've got all that and this kind of ties into those and kind of ghost stories It's just kind of interesting. Yeah, the song is the most wonderful time of the year.

That's right. I remember now I know this song wait a minute isn't that when the kids go back to school? Well that too Or when your cat is over before Christmas break Alright, let's talk about another one. We're gonna talk about a young maiden named Clara So in 1895 Clara was found dead in her tiny attic room and Christmas Eve Which seems like a real bummer cuz uh, what do you do?

Just put a sheet over and be like well bill says after Christmas morning I mean it's a little cold this I can't clear as that will be all this under years that being said remember the coins were creepy They probably thought it was awesome just saying that's probably true So we're gonna talk about Clara's found a tiny attic of dead on Christmas Eve She complained earlier in the day by the gentleman who wouldn't stop falling or but nobody actually took her serious The police actually came in and investigated but they ruled it her death was accidental Although the neighbors kind of whispered that it was otherwise, you know and back in these days unless there's a knife sticking out your back I mean pretty much everything was real accidental because they didn't have the technology we have now But what happened next was like a full-blown haunting legend like a Victorian legend every Christmas after Clara's death drops of blood Reportedly appeared in the walls in the home, but only December and only near her old room Tenants would often hear soft caroling in the night, but only one verse and always the same tidings of comfort and joy Tydings of comfort and joy comfort and joy joy joy drops of blood murder mayhem Which is a Victorian ring to it which Clara was known to hum while she's cleaning so she would frequently hum that song not the murder and blood part Not a murder but part I added that for effect. Thanks for clarifying that when the house is demolished decades later workers So they still heard seeing echoing from the rubble today their shops built on that location But people's storyport hearing strange activity flickering lights soft sobbing and there's reports of phantom brooms between the floorboards that no longer exist I know what's going on now. You missed a spot. Oh Other than asking about do you see the spot you missed yes or no That being said that's interesting because I read this and I look at the story and I think Is that like echoing over is it all hunting or is this an active hunting?

I'd be really curious to find out more about this and how much is legend how much is real absolutely very interesting All right, so we're gonna jump to Anne Boleyn now. I know what you're saying She's neither Victorian nor Edwardian, but work with us here Okay, she is known for haunting multiple places, but there is actually a specific Christmas haunting tied to heaver castle Which is tied to some emotional pain that she carried now witnesses say she appears only between December 20th and Christmas night And what they see is they will see her walking kind of slow do we ever hear ghosts walking fast Anyway, yes the other ring I've seen the ring So Anne apparently walks low and there's a lot of you trees imagine these you trees in the winter They're gonna be bare enough only if they're gonna be gone and then just in typical ghost fashion She's gonna have a white dress that's kind of shining shimmering. Of course, it's gonna stand out pretty What's the word I want pretty spectacularly against the dark winter night? So you might be asking why Christmas if you go and research there's a lot of historians that believe Christmas time was the last Peaceful time she spent with her family before she was brought into King Henry the its court and that's when her life fell apart So for her you have the pain and the emotion from everything she went through with King Henry the eighth ultimately being beheaded and Then contrast that with the last peaceful time she was with her family But people also claim to see her pacing against the castle walls and they see her hand like she puts her hand on the wall They also see her looking through windows at families gathered around Christmas dinners almost longingly like she was with them I don't almost feels like she's mourning a life.

She didn't get to keep it's like everything she went through She's looking back into those times thinking I wish I could have that back Some visitors say that they've smelled roses which happened to be Anne's favorite And they will smell this especially along a path that she was said to frequent often and they also hear what would sound like maybe a faint Russell of skirts Imagine someone walking along a path wearing the big skirts that she would have worn and just what that sounds might be Even though the grounds at the time are empty. Oh, that was interesting That's to think of Amblin and those things that are going on with her in 1906 tragedy hit San Ringham estate just before Christmas two young servants Eleanor and Thomas were trapped in fire that broke out in a dense winding servants quarters The real family was preparing for their holiday festivities when the blaze erupted the servants deaths were overshadowed by the season But their spirit didn't seem to forget for years afterwards the staff reported the same strange things every December Knocking coming from rooms that shouldn't have been empty the sound of running feet down the hallways that had been rebuilt The lights turning on in the old laundry room the exact location where the fire had started today There's a tradition every Christmas a candle is left burning in the servants hall for the departed Officially it's a tribute but the sass quietly says it keeps Eleanor and Thomas calm I'm fine ironic that they died in a fire and they're like we're gonna handle for them And it keeps them calm. Yeah, I don't fire. It was like a little fire to remind us of how we died.

Yeah, I don't alcoholism awareness festivities at the bar and here's the thing it's the Sandringham and Sandringham is where the royal family has their Christmas every year Even today because I have this morbid fascination with the royal family So there you go my favorite part about the whole story is the fact that it's like they're desperate overshadowed by Christmas Dang, we just lost no service in a fire, but who's carving the turkey? I think that answers the question from the earlier one of the maid in the attic, right? Clara we'll just close the start looking back at the Christmas Okay, so let's jump to Greystone Manor and this is in it was about 1880 and they're having a lavish Christmas ball Because balls were very popular back then that's often how the yellow are people. I know that's how they didn't have YouTube Exactly.

That's how a lot of times people would meet their shots Right? So the lady of the home of this particular manor was Eleanor Greystone and she was found at the bottom of the grand staircase I mentioned the grand staircase that you go down and there's pearl scattered everywhere. This sounds just like your classic Is that the current matter? Right, I know classic kudah So the coroner comes in and the coroner says oh it's an accident But there's witnesses and these witnesses said we saw her husband and he just looked curious earlier in the evening One of them said that they had heard them arguing and apparently she had some secret letters because at the time back then Affairs with upper class were rampant because a lot of times the marriages were arranged and so they would have Affairs and it was okay in society as long as you kept it on the down low and when I say okay generally okay But apparently it was more okay with the men than women So the men could kind of flaunt it but if the woman hadn't affair usually the husband would get bent out of shape So they're arguing over these secret letters But after her death the Christmas balls continued because apparently people dying doesn't put a big pallor over things at the time But the guests kept reporting some eerie events and it wasn't just a few eerie events They kept reporting the same thing over and over again So what they would experience would be cold blass of air along the staircase they would see pearls dropping from nowhere they would see reflections of a woman in a white gown in mirrors that had been removed and They would hear music playing after the musicians had left and Castle you and I did residential years ago I don't know if you remember this one but the other had passed away and The daughter had received a bracelet that just kind of came out of nowhere.

Do you remember this one vaguely keep going? That's all I remember I was hoping you knew more Nope, that's about all I remember But this kind of reminded me of that because you're thinking pearls dropping from nowhere But we did experience this on a residential whether there was a daughter and I think she was about what 13 14 or 14 or 14 Yeah, I remember this I think I was there on a follow-up. Yeah, I was there on the original But I think there's a clear on a follow-up and it's interesting because I don't remember that one very well other than as much as you remember But I know we've had investigations where spirits have left pennies on keyboards and it's like oh their dad had left pennies before he passed away And that was regular occurrence. I know you recently had an event that kind of happened Raven similar with a corsage that I'm gonna feel that you dealt with that moved on to your keyboard I'll tell this right I don't mind sharing it So at a funeral the family has the booteners and the corsages and I had my corsage on and they said the pallbearers can go put their boot on the casket and I was like, oh keep in mind so I can't line and right above my desk I have a magnet board but I've got some fabric over The metal so it looks cute not just like metal and so I came home and I took my corsage and I pinned it to the fabric in this board and Get hung there for several days to the point where the outside pedals were just dry as dry could be the inside was still a little moist I'm gonna use that word a little moist.

There's some moisture in the center, but the outer one or two layers of pedals were completely dry and I got up one day walked towards my desk because it's where my socks live or kind of passed my desk and I noticed that this corsage is interesting because just the rose was out the rest of it was still pinned to the board only the rose was out and if the rose had just fallen it would have fallen straight down and even it had bounced on something there's no way it could have bounced where it bounced Right because it would have fallen behind your monitor and your keyword was in front of it and it would have been blocked by the monitor and the monitor stand Yes and I love my family but nobody in my family I'm sorry Chad nobody in my family would have said oh look this rose fell down let me take it and place it on the keyboard Nobody would have done that and not because you're all jerks you would try to look for it and it was centered perfectly on top of my keyboard and right where it was it was perfectly centered with a card that had my sense aim on it If it had fallen the dried pedals around the rose would have been broken it was completely intact perfectly straight perfectly centered right my Robbie's name and I have no doubt in my mind that he placed it there And that's a common thing we've heard about a lot of other investigations so I fully believe that these pearls dropping from nowhere is I think I do believe that spirits may remain after they've passed and they can train send us messages they can try and reach out to us it's a very real thing Interesting without the whole Grayson matter event I'd be so curious to know on some of these whole stories where the police are like Oh, it's an accident, you know to find out what really happened with some of these suspicious deaths Yeah, and the interesting thing is that we go back to Greystone Manor They said that they had so much activity that the estate actually stopped hosting Christmas events because the activity became so unnerving to a lot of the guests that went So pictures snowy Christmas morning in 1902 two men stomping into a scheduled part of the Sydney Gardens to settle a rivalry over a woman named Marianne She wore a bright red ribbon every Christmas and both men thought she had promised her heart to them Oh, I see where this is going. That's cool. Let's dole. The duel was messy one man died immediately and the other bled out slowly in the cold calling Marianne's name When word reached her she fainted and she refused to celebrate Christmas ever again Now here's the haunting locals claimed that on Christmas morning just as dawn hits the snow you can see two shadowy figures clashing with pistols Sometimes people say they see a faint sash of red like Marianne's driven floating between the trees Even stranger dogs reportedly refused to walk in that part of the path around Christmas And see I would call that one a residual haunting wouldn't you?

Yeah, I'd be curious because I don't know I've talked about on the show before I'm not a hundred percent sure how I feel about residual hauntings I do think they are real, but I'm not sure how they fit and what exactly they are, but yeah, probably I'll agree with you Probably not an intelligent haunting right? I already have this quarters podcast figured out, but we're gonna have to do a podcast on residual hauntings because I've got theories. We'll talk Excellent. All right.

So I think it's kind of interesting how all these tragedies seem to echo louder at Christmas So here's the question I have for you guys. Do you think these holiday hauntings are harder because of season so emotional? Or just trauma imprint itself more deeply what happens during a time that's mostly joyful Why do you think there's somebody at these Christmas ghosts things? I've got some theories, but I'm curious to see what you guys have to say before I delve into mine So my thoughts would be around Christmas time.

There's a ton of stuff going on For example, this year on December 20th. I have the potential to go to four things I can't go to four things because the time overlaps so Chad and I are gonna have to divide and cop And there's one thing that I just said no, I can't do that because if I do that my mother will kill me And then we'll have another Christmas ghost story Death of Raven Right, so I just think that there's so much going on and so many parties and so many get-togethers and Especially if you look back at the Victorian times, how did they keep their homes? So they just didn't turn the thermostat. There were spires there You know, there were duels now you just punch each other but then duels were saying I'm not saying that people don't shoot each other now But duels more or less acceptable at the time.

I say more or less because anyway So for me, I think it's one so many things so many people getting together And then two it's supposed to be a happy time of year but emotions and family getting together and friends getting together things can pop up and stuff happens Yeah, I agree. I think with ghosts a lot of paranormal things in general So much of it has to emotion and intent and trying to bring things into focus But I think the emotion is a big part of it and I think this time of year is quite emotional You also get to the point we're getting to the new year the shortest days of the year just Right in that same time period the 21st a lot of people believe that this is when the bail is the thinnest between Our existence in the spirit world So I do think that Christmas both from a timing standpoint with the length of the days and the shortening of days and how emotional it is Both in positive sometimes negative ways Is a big part of that. I think emotions amplify the spirits Well, I'll even go step further if you get into the nitty gritty It's believed that christmas itself which celebrates christ birth That christ was even born in December that christmas was put on the same day as a pagan holiday because The Roman Catholic church back in the day was trying to bring pegans into christianity and they took over a lot of their holidays Basically to brace them by making them christian holidays. I eat christmas which is very near the winter solstice And so I don't know if that plays a part in it, but I also suspect that this is a time of year when Everybody is thinking about christ or celebrating christ There's just so much stuff going on.

I think people are more in tune with the spirit world I think the veil is thinner and I think between all those things I think it sets up the perfect conditions for the spirit world to be a little bit closer to us if that makes sense So I don't know if I just did word salad, but I just think it's a perfect storm of Things but ultimately I just think the veil is thinner. We're all a little bit more spiritually in tune And so with these emotions and spiritual feelings and stuff running high, I think it's pretty easy for these things to kind of overlap Yeah, all right, I agree and that pagan holiday you're talking about is you will you've heard of the ole There are a few traditions that came across there's also satranelia Which was the ancient roman holiday at the same time between december 17th and 23rd And there's other north and dramatic holidays too. So there's a lot of holidays being celebrated at this time of the year We've got the longest night of the year. All right, let's jump into another story All right, this is straight out of a victorango story so young couple and also sounds like the intro to beetle juice So there's a young couple the traveling home from cressus part in the late 1800s Their carriage to get it on black ice and crash the bridge drilling into the tamed river It's the tames Tim's tames tames tames tomato tomato That's the one thing in all the weird names we've had to say over the years.

That is the one thing I do know how to say so i just throw out My own of pronunciation not like just the tames. Okay, all right. Oh th ames. I'm with you that's things So all that beetle juice the carriage ain't constantly and neither body is recovered So it's reported that every christmas at exactly 11 45 p.m People are reporting horses who's clattering on stone I ghostly carriage races across wetsomature bridge a lantern swinging that vanishes over the side without a splash Some drivers claim they've swerve to avoid the phantom carriage only to find the road empty The police have multiple calls over the years from pant witnesses thinking they saw a real accident It's one of the one that's most persistent holiday hauntings So this is one that's still reported that they see this crash and again I think this would probably fall under our residual style hauntings I'm not an atelgent hunt.

Well, I think I haven't sent out publicly the winter podcast schedule yet I think i'm going to tweak one of them to talk about residuals because I think it would be fun to talk about residuals So we've dealt with so many here that possibly are I think in january we will discuss a residual We'll discuss residual hauntings. All righty and frankly this Victorian era even though I think they're creepy is heck this era is what really is my favorite era Like I said, I wouldn't want to actually live there But I wouldn't mind visiting every once in a while And this is the foundation of what got me interested in ghosts anyway because to me ghosts were wearing big dresses And they'd fall down the stairs and there was pearls everywhere and their carriages had crashed into the river stuff like this So I liked this episode. This was fun for me not because people died but it just reminded me of why I really liked ghosts All right, so let's finish off So in 1910 there was a family they were the grevilles and they had a traditional christmas feast as most people do Just think of christmas carol There's a flower and onions A duck A duck A little zonnya Goose Okay, let me digress in it One year I was gonna be all deaconsy and I went to the store and I bought a goose for christmas And you know how when you make a turkey or a roast you just you pour off the drippings and you just mix it with a little bit of cornstarch from water and it makes gravy It doesn't work with the goose. I don't know what it is.

You cannot make goose gravy doesn't work All right, so back to the grevilles They were in their best clothes just the whole thing So during dinner the patriarch suddenly just collapsed dead before he hit the floor just boom And obviously the family's gonna be traumatized, right? But as a tribute to him they kept his chair empty every year and they would place a single glass of wine in front of it And that's when the honking started So things would happen like candles would blow out during toasts The empty chair that they would have sitting there would slide back from the table without anyone touching it And whoever happened to be sitting at the head of the table every christmas would just have this deep cold kind of settle over them And they say that even after the hall fell into ruins and no one lived there anymore People that would go like these urban explorers or just people wanting to check it out Claimed that when they would go into the old dining room it would occasionally glow with a kind of a warm golden light They would describe it like christmas dinner was still happening with the candles and the table set And they could almost feel ghostly figures sitting there in silence. So I thought that was kind of fun. That is kind of fun All right, so a little shout out to Radio Ronan.

They are fantastic people You need to give their podcast to listen after you hear ours Castle, I know you will work with them a lot Yes, Radio Ronan and spranental hour is proudly I remember the radio runner network For those who are not familiar with Radio Ronan It's basically like a really good funny morning show without the terrible music and without the bonerats So go give them a listen. They put new shows out every monday and thursday And so go give them a listen. They are wonderful supporters of us And we appreciate their show and all the support that they give us so go get ready We're on a listen after you finish with this podcast And as long as we're giving a shout outs, I want to shout out to wild whistle because I've actually been craving a sandwich of theirs and I've been to pacin Which is not weird as they're in sanwan, but I've been to pacin a lot recently And I keep thinking man, I should just write the extra couple miles south and go get me a sandwich All right, so If you haven't already got your supernatural hour t-shirt, you should do so go to our website and shoot us a message Our webmaster who happens to be yours truly needs to get a link up there, but he's been lazy and forgetful So if you want something just send us a message and we will tell you what it is and how to get it And we will try and get a link up this week. I'll make sure it reminds me and I will get a link up to our swag But if you don't have a rate of spranental hour tapestry Why not you everybody should have a spranental hour tapestry or hoodie or t-shirt or sweat shirt?

It's a good time for a hoodie, but I still have flowers in my yard. It's December. Who needs their supernatural hour of an anemic? Do not send a picture to that.

Yeah, we don't want to see pictures of that, please. No. All right, so let us jump into the junk drawer. The place where things get weird.

So tonight we are full of the Christmas spirit We are going to open the drawer and to ground and we're gonna find the strangest Christmas creatures from around the world Not Santa, not else. I'm talking the really weird ones These are gonna be the ones where you say to yourself what happened for that to come around? So As Chad was saying this time of years known for yule So the first one is the yule cat which is Iceland's giant murder cat Not cuddly, not cuddly. It is actually a massive building size cat that roams Iceland at christmas and literally eats anyone who didn't get new clothes for the holiday So imagine explaining that one after no one would or sweater Sweetie if you don't get socks this year the cat is size of us will eat you I guess i said it's a good way to incentivize.

Like your ugly sweater. Appreciating grandma's sweater Okay, so then there's I can't even pronounce this one. I've got the list of you right here. I'm looking at that.

No, may I try Yes, go ahead calicantas. Yeah, it's greases machivious goblin gremlins. None of that is easy So these little creatures only come out during the 12 days of christmas and they basically exist to cause chaos They still food they break furniture some stories they mess with people's feet while they sleep not hurt them Just mess with them. They tickle nibbling tote pulling shirts by just chaos goblins just the holiday edition Sounds like little kids make excuses for breaking snuff in the house and sneaking food at night agreed So then we're gonna go back to you all there's the yule lads.

These are what they call Iceland's 13 questionable visitors Everyone knows the nice version but the original versions these guys were gremlins. You've got spoon liquor, door slammer, sausage swiper, window peeper Yes, that's his name. They each is on a different daily adventure christmas. It's like an advent calendar, but with petty crime involved So forget sleepy doppie dock all those we've got spoon liquor door slammer.

I thought they sounded like they belong on a sex offender registry No, right like once you guys going on there. Okay, this one. I have to hear castle say this one castle. He'd be this one Percheda the belly inspector.

I need to check out a bit So basically this is from alpine folklore basically perched up checks to see if you behaved if you did she gives you sweets If you didn't she slices your belly opens stuff so she back up so yeah, that's not dark at all Okay, just a few more we've got mary lu she is on their registry well skeleton horse caroler It just it feels like this feels like a mad limp It feels like well skeleton horse caroler. So this one's amazing So imagine a full horse skull on a stick decorated with ribbons carried by someone hidden under a sheet They go to door door singing and you have to do a rhyming battle with it or it gets to come into your house A wrap-off Dropping dropping some sick rhymes. Okay Napoleon on my highlands christmas ogre mom. She is a mom of the yule ads So this is how they got their spool liquor names and stuff, but honestly she's truly terrifying if the names alone don't lend School research I think I met this So she lives in mountains and comes down at christmas to kidnap not each old okay fair enough But she's going to cook them into soup.

So you know think of that threat to be good Yeah, so you know, yeah, people in the old days you guys are creepy. So fryer axe man This is a finished christmas log murderer. So that sounds terrifying, right? He's actually good.

He's wholesome So he rums around with an axe like christmas even he checks your wood pile and if you're would have stopped and ready for winter He blesses your home with warmth and luck, but if not he chops your wood for you. I see your word It needs stopping so he's a motor the logs. Yeah, he's a chaotic but good lumberjack ghost I know I wish I could come and clean my house instead. All right, so last but not least the bells nickel who is Santa's feral cousin So this is German American folklore.

So, you know, it's probably gonna be really out there He wears fur he looks like a raccoon who broke into a renaissance there and he shows up before christmas to whack Misbehaving kids with a switch, but then he gives him candy It's kind of like I will discipline you and reward you a gross mindset So if we just look at christmas around the world is full of nightmarish creatures We have toagoblins, murder cats, horse skull, bards. So, you know, I love it You know, I find interesting that you didn't add ours to this list Raven So when Raven and I were we young children, we had an additional Christmas creature that would come visit us on New Year's Eve Jack Frost and so it's a tradition in our home that on New Year's Eve you put up your Christmas sock and Jack Frost would come visit and Jack Frost would fill your Christmas sock up with usually coal and some rocks and pieces of wood and Like maybe a piece of candy or two and maybe a very small gift But we always look forward every New Year's day to wake up to see what Jack Frost brought us our stockings Jack Frost would also fill the stockings with peanut shells, wrapping paper Coal Dig through all the junk to get to the toilet, the toilet, the toilet And this still happens in my family That's awesome. I wish I would have kept it going mine, but I forgot about it till I'm a bit older Yeah, so after we take all the Christmas decorations down and then I leave the socks out because the socks still have to go up That being said Jack Frost here is lazy and doesn't put garbage in the sock There's just something in the toilet or sock on New Year's Day Alrighty, so before we hear what Castle has prepared for EDPs I want to just talk about our tales really quick That's another place I've been craving because I've been eating there forever and need to go back So, so good. It's not Mexican food like you have ever experienced It's like gourmet Mexican food but affordable So go give this- It's really, really, really good and it's like Chef Mexican food like it comes out fancy but it tastes delicious It's amazing Yes, in fact we have to go there this month Alright, EDPs, what's up?

Alright, so here's what I've got. I've got nothing for you But that being said, I have been going through some investigations that we've done recently We did one up in daybreak several weeks ago and we've done a couple of petite investigations and I've been pouring over my audio and I have some new EDPs And so in January, when we start our new series of shows in January I will have fresh EDPs first listened to here on the show So I want you guys to look forward to those, come back and listen to the show in January But like I said, I'm currently pouring over audio to find EDPs I know I've mentioned it before but we do our public investigations 10 times a year, sometimes a little more And I sometimes hear people say, oh this place is so noisy We're not gonna get good EDPs here But sometimes that background noise actually I don't know how or why But it helps amplify those EDP files make them easier to hear So just because the place is noisy doesn't mean you're not gonna get good EDPs You should be good about tagging the audio files you have And by tagging that means if you fart, sneeze, whisper, somebody else says something quietly Another room you just need to call it out on your audio so you don't confuse it for an EDP In fact, there's one EDP that I'm planning on playing for us in January That I'm not a hard-person sure it is an EDP but where I'm looking at the sound file And there's kind of a signature that you see on AVPs when you look at a sound file If you look at a sound file on a computer, it generally has a waveform Like it gets bigger the louder it is A lot of times at the EDPs there is no waveform that goes with the sound It just looks like it's flat but you still hear a word This one has all the signature markings of an EDP by which I mean there is no wavefile But it sounds like it could be contamination But we're gonna listen to it here on the show and see what everybody thinks So look for that in our January shows So there should be this show, one other and then I think we'll be into January shows Is that correct Raven? Yes, we've got this one that comes out on the tenth one that comes out on the 24th Which considering it's the 24th that made come out earlier May I say five minutes long, Merry Christmas! See you in January, bye!

It'll be a little scary stuff, bye! So anyway, that's what I've got for the piece So I know people are like, Castler has anything I do I'm just currently curating it and we will have it ready in January We'll start playing an EVP show at least one Alright, so investigations, we've had one residential We were gonna have actually three to talk about One had to reschedule because of illness One reschedule just wasn't anything There was no head spinnings and vomiting and pea soup They were mostly just curious and they decided they wanted to wait till after the holidays So in January we will readdress these two But we did do one in North Utah County And this is a residence we've been to before a couple of times And just because of some past history they've got things The client's son has reported being scratched in the middle of the night And also some sleep paralysis So we went out to check out what was going on And when we got there in the home it felt fine It was me and Lane that went And it wasn't until we went downstairs We walked downstairs and most of the activity took place in his bedroom But we went into the family room that was down there Just to put our stuff down and get our equipment out And I set my back on the coffee table And I walked to go around to the end of the coffee table So I could give Lane some room And I just felt like I walked through a wall And I didn't say anything because then I had him thinking Did I really feel that? I kind of wanted to address it and maybe walk back and forth and see So I got out a couple of pieces of my equipment And walked back and I said walk back I could feel it again And right before, because I thought oh this point I'm going to say something But right before I could say anything, Lane said man It felt like I just walked through a wall right here And I said thank you I said I felt the same thing So she has an enviro bell and I have a dead bell We got both of those bells out And they just kept going off Just ding ding ding And they would go off at the same time She left hers out in the family room And I took mine back into the bedroom And they were both just dinging at the same time And then we got other equipment out We're asking questions and we're doing all this other stuff And then suddenly the bells stopped And they would not ding the rest of the night Lane actually had to leave the room at one point Because she was just so overwhelmed with some of the fields And she said I've never had that happen before And I kept checking on her Because it was just me the homeowner and Lane at the time She had to hold a selenite just to keep herself balanced We were taking some pictures in this room Because I had the red pot in there The red pot was beeping a little bit And I took some pictures and we both saw And we didn't catch this in the cameras But we both saw an anomaly in the shadow Because you can see the shadow of the bed And then there's just this little anomaly Something that kind of peaked out and then went back So long story short, we ended up cleansing the home And I was the client's son to take a salt bath He also had a lot of some negative things going on in his life He's not negative, but some anger issues, some things That some people have done to him that could cause anger and sadness And so we just advised him to let those go Focus on happy things as much as possible And to try to bring more positivity into his life By looking for it in other places And not being burdened by these things that he couldn't control So all in all, it was a good investigation Sounds like it, I'm kind of sad I missed it So we're just going to close up tonight Just want you to remember Victorian and Edward and Christmases were filled with stories Like nowadays, we have joy stories We've got stories that make us sad And in a time when ghost stories were a Christmas tradition Like they were back in the Victorian times It just makes sense that those losses Especially the ones that are tied to Christmas itself Would continue to echo through history Sometimes these ghosts linger because their stories were never meant to be forgotten Maybe they want to remember them And maybe that's one reason why Christmas hauntings feel a little more powerful Because they remind us that behind all that Let's see Christmas ribbons and bows and stuff The season does hold deep emotions Good and bad sadly So think of things, joy, sorrow, love, regret It all stays with us in some way or another And for some people maybe even after they're gone So keep it creepy my friends Hey have a good night We'll see you next time around You've been listening to the Supernatural Hour at AdvancedParanormal.com The Supernatural Hour is part of the Radio Ronin Network Found at Radioronin.com Copyright by AdvancedParanormal Services
