victoria's (sapphic) secret
from gasp! the pod Hosted by gasp! the pod
Victoria has a little secret...she's a sapphic. For 5 decades, Victoria's Secret has held the role of the arbiters of sensuality, or rather the fantasy of female sexuality, showing women what they should look like to be deemed sexy by the male gaze. At first look, Victoria’s Secret seems like a company for straights by straights. But with a closer look, we can see the secret held so dearly by Victoria. This episode, we’re unearthing that secret and digging into the camouflaged lesbian subtext of the brand, the hyper femme Angels, the real relationships, and the VS cruising culture that is hidden in plain sight.
