Victorious in Christ series - Victory Over Sin - Rev. Richard Kakulu

This is the first message in the series Victorious in Christ. 1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith. The things that happen in the world cannot happen to you because you are of a different bloodline. An understanding of your identity and authority in Christ will propel you in life. 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus. Romans 8:37 Nay, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Jesus came to deal with the sin nature. There was a penalty that needed to be paid, and Christ paid that penalty. Therefore, when you put your faith in Christ, you are exonerated from condemnation. Sin is no longer a problem for you. When you focus on spiritual things it becomes difficult for you to fall into habitual sin. When you walk in the flesh, there will be no behavioural difference between you and the children of the world (Galatians 5:16) Ways to stop habitual sin: 1. Believe that you are wired to continue to live in righteousness 2. Acknowledge the truth of the word of God that sin cannot have dominion over you. Live by the teachings of Christ. Confess Christ. Confess your righteousness all the time. Have righteousness consciousness instead of sin consciousness. Have faith in God. Stop living in guilt. Say no to every unrighteous act. 3. Continue believing and worshiping God in His presence
