Victory Day Lives On at Iowa State | Iowa State Cyclones Basketball News

Iowa State’s beloved Victory Day tradition lives on under new head coach Jimmy Rogers, honoring the legacy of former coach Matt Campbell. This heartwarming event brings Cyclone football players and youth with special needs together for a full game-day experience at Jack Trice Stadium — complete with marching band, cheer squad, and real-time play calls on the big screen. Players spend 90 minutes helping kids “score” touchdowns, creating unforgettable moments that bring joy to both sides. It’s a win-win: kids get a magical day, and players gain deep fulfillment. Alongside Victory Day, two other cherished traditions — the Nick Bassett Award and the Curtis Bray Honor — will continue, preserving Iowa State’s spirit. Rogers’ first Victory Day is set for August 27th, as he vows these rituals are what make the program truly special and enduring.
