Deep in a forgotten forest, an ancient guardian stands before a sealed door. He has held his post for thousands of years — placed there by his father, a king, to protect the world from the beasts trapped inside. The sounds behind the door have never stopped. He has never once looked away. Then, a small, curious traveler wanders out of the fog. No quest. No agenda. Just someone who wanted to see what was in the forest. He asks simple questions — the kind no one has asked in centuries — and each one chips away at a story the guardian has been telling himself since before the world forgot his name. What's behind the door isn't what either of them expects. And what it reveals about the man who put him there is worse than any beast could have been.
