Vietnam Veterans Day and the 60th Anniversary of The Battle of Long Tan - Matt Keogh MP

The Federal Minister for Veterans Affairs speaks with the Radio Show about Vietnam Veterans Day, the 60th Anniversary of The Battle of Long Tan and its significance to Australia and its military history. On the 18th August, 1966, Delta Company, 6th Battalion, 6RAR, fought against a large North Vietnamese and Viet Cong force in the Long Tan rubber plantation near Nui Dat and the 1st Australian Task Force Base. D Company's 105 men and 3 New Zealanders from 161 Battery, Royal NZ Artillery fought for almost 4 hours - we were outnumbered 10 to 1 - 18 Australians lost their lives, with 24 wounded.
