View Askewniverse Haunts: Clerks Locations and Jersey Ghost Stories

Episode 84:   The Slice team headed into Monmouth County, New Jersey to explore haunted locations tied to the world of the View Askewniverse and the cult classic films of Kevin Smith. We visited iconic New Jersey movie locations connected to Clerks, Chasing Amy, and Jay and Silent Bob, including the legendary Quick Stop Groceries to count eggs and soak in one of the most recognizable indie film locations in movie history. We also stopped at Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash to check out props, memorabilia, and rare items from the View Askewniverse films. Along the way we hung out with John Willyung, the actor from the original ending of Clerks and the unforgettable "finger cuffs" scene from Chasing Amy. Naturally, we also tracked down local pizza spots in Red Bank because Jersey pizza is practically its own religion. But this trip wasn't just movie nostalgia. We explored haunted places and urban legends throughout Monmouth County, including the mysterious Dempsey House, where we dug into the truth behind the local legends. We also visited the historic Seabrook-Wilson House, better known as the Spy House, one of New Jersey's most talked about haunted sites. Finally, we stopped at The Canal Inn where we drank beside the infamous Death Chair and learned the chilling lore surrounding the bar.
