VIEW FROM THE FRONT PORCH

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” For me there is something sacred about a new day from the view of the front porch. Before the day gets busy, before the phone rings, before the demands of life begin to pull at our thoughts, there is that quiet moment when the world seems to hold its breath for just a few moments. The morning air feels fresh, the birds begin their songs of Praise, and the first rays of sunlight start to shine through the trees. From the porch, it feels as though God Himself is turning the page to a brand-new chapter. I imagine that just maybe this was the beauty behind Psalm 118:24.
