Vigilant Hope
from Christ Church United Methodist Hosted by Rev. Leigh Ann Maynard
This sermon reflects on Jesus’ call to “keep awake,” reminding us that no one knows the hour of Christ’s return and that true readiness is revealed in the way we treat others who bear the image of God. Through the parables of the bridesmaids, the talents, and the final judgment, Rev. Leigh Ann emphasizes faithful stewardship, daily compassion, and a life oriented toward hope rather than fear. As Advent begins, we are invited to wait vigilantly and lovingly for Christ, trusting that he is worth the watch.
