Vikings Postgame Report: The Vikings Defeat The New York Giants 13-10 To Open The 2026 Preseason - Preseason Wk 1

Welcome back to the Vikings Postgame Report.  The Minnesota Vikings defeated the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Quarterback Kyler Murray opened the game for the Vikings on the opening drive and led the Offense into the Red Zone where Kicker Will Reichard converted a 35-yard field goal. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy came in with the #2’s and finished the day 4-of-7 for 34 passing yards. Quarterback Carson Wentz finished out the game throwing 9-of-14 for 81 yards and a touchdown to WR Myles Price. Myles led the team in receiving with 4 catches for 51 yards. Rookie running back Demond Claiborne led the rushing attack with 34 yards on 12 carries. Defensively, OLB Dallas Turner, S Jay Ward, DL Elijah Williams and LB Bo Richter all recorded sacks in the game. LB Jacob Roberts and S Jacob Thomas snagged interceptions.
