Villanova Lands 7'3 Italian Center

Villanova just snagged a towering international gem: 7-foot-3 Italian center Luigi Suigo, who pulled out of the NBA Draft Combine to join the Wildcats for 2026-27. Suigo, from Tradate, averaged nearly eight points and five rebounds in the ABA League last season and is praised by coach Kevin Willard for his skill, length, and basketball IQ. He’ll team up with returning stars like Nico Onyekwere and join a loaded transfer class including Kwame Evans Jr., Devin Royal, and guards Elijah Crawford, Jake Fiegen, and Darryl Simmons II — plus freshman Adam Oumiddoch. The season kicks off overseas with a game in Rome against Notre Dame on November 1st, a fitting nod to Suigo’s Italian roots. This move signals Villanova’s bold strategy to blend international talent with NCAA firepower for a unique and exciting campaign.
