Villanova Trio Wins NBA Championship

The New York Knicks finally broke their championship drought, and it’s all thanks to three former Villanova Wildcats—Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart—who helped lead them to victory. What makes this win even more historic? These guys already had college national championships under their belts, and now they’re part of an elite group of just 60 NBA players who’ve won both a college title and an NBA title. Brunson and Bridges are among only 14 who’ve won two college titles and an NBA championship. Brunson, in fact, took home Finals MVP—making him just the seventh player ever to win a national title, NBA title, and Finals MVP. This Villanova trio joins a legacy of former teammates who’ve also achieved this rare feat, with DiVincenzo being the only one to win two college titles and an NBA title.
