Villanova’s First Home Loss | Villanova Wildcats Basketball News

Villanova men’s soccer suffered their first home loss of the season, falling 1-0 to Fairleigh Dickinson — snapping a three-game win streak and ending their scoreless home record. The Knights struck in the 71st minute, breaking through Villanova’s stout defense. Senior Josh Oladele made his season debut, taking three shots in 23 minutes. Coach Mark Fetrow praised the defense but stressed the need to improve offense — clean sheets aren’t enough if you can’t score. He also revealed a tactical shift: moving goalie Alex Yagudayev higher upfield to aid possession and disrupt opponent transitions, while still recording six saves. Despite the setback, Villanova’s defense remains a strength — they’ll look to rebound against George Washington on Sunday at 3 PM.
