Vincent Price SONG Bard''s Own Recipe - Lizard's Leg & Owlets Wing
from spookylorre
You might remember Boris Karloff, Peter Lorre and Lon Chaney Jr. in a "Route 66" episode called "Lizard's Leg and Owlet's Wing." That title referenced Shakespeare. And here, Vincent Price offers the infamous Macbeth Witch lines...suitable for dancing! Our cool witches (or wee-atches) chant "Double double, toil and trouble," and the Vinster offers up a gourmet collection of creepy culinary ideas to boil and bake in a cauldron. The stew includes ”...eye of newt and toe of frog, wool of bat and tongue of dog…lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing…liver of a blaspheming Jew…” (hey, you could’ve edited that last one out, Vinnie). The recipe is an adaptation from the original lines. Brush up your Shakespeare and see what goodies were left out! Price was a great gourmet (he even offered, er, hair of dog to Robert Morley in "Theatre of Blood"). This song was the flip side of "Monster Mash," a single only released in England
