Play in a Day Event: Virginia Players Revive Ambitious Theatrical ProjectThe Virginia Players, a student-run drama group, recently revived their Play in a Day production, a unique theatrical event involving writing, directing, rehearsing, and performing a play within roughly twenty-four hours. The project aimed to re-energize the group after a post-pandemic lull and offer a low-commitment, fun way for new students to get involved in theater.Three short plays, each about ten minutes long, were performed, spanning comedies to dramas. Playwrights received a prompt, randomly selected their cast and theme, and included a common object and phrase in each play.
