Whatever we might think about Jesus, we all have created a ‘virtual Jesus’ in our minds. The real Jesus constantly challenges us. The real Jesus can’t be put in a box. In this final encounter, Jesus is about to be arrested and when He simply pronounces, ‘I am He’ soldiers are literally knocked off their feet. The Jesus of eternity, the Jesus of history, the Jesus of today and forevermore is still doing this. Still surprising us, still with the power to knock us to the ground and build us back up again. He is God. He is real. He is with us. The real Jesus is here.
