Virtues: Reflectiveness - Independence

from Live Vedanta: Parenting Culture Hosted by Vivek Gupta

Recap: The body goes through 6 changes: Asti (existence), Jayate (inner to outer world), Vardhate (growth), Vipareenamate (maturity), Apaksheeyate (disease and decay), Vinashyati (death). When we ignore these changes, we fear them. When we reflect on these changes, we adapt. When we live by dependence (having a reason for happiness), we become addicted, attached and apathetic. How to practice Anudarshana (Reflectiveness) and Asakti (Independence)? Reflect: Relationships are created in time and change. When we appreciate this, we become less attached and nurture appreciation in others. Practice Sadhana: When we invest in ourselves, then we can live in a dharmic way oriented towards “rightness” without being emotional.
