Dr. Rizzo found that diabetics who were using Ozempic or Wegovy had 4 times the risk of vision loss as compared to diabetics who were not using these drugs. Obese people who were using Ozempic or Wegovy had a 7 times the risk of vision loss than obese people who weren't using these drugs. The vision loss was from a condition known as "Non-arteritic ischemic anterior optic neuropathy" which is damage to the optic nerve that connects the eye and brain.
