Vision Sunday 2022

from Victory Church Jbay · host Louis Els

So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all. Then David took all the flocks and herds they had driven before those other livestock, and said, “This is David’s spoil.”1 Samuel 30:18-20 (NKJV)This week we will be looking at the prophetic word for the year that Ps Louis shared on Vision Sunday. The theme of 2022 is ‘Recover and Restore’.Ps Louis shared out of 1 Samuel 30, where we read a part of the story of David. We see an extreme loss for David and his men, followed by God recovering and restoring everything. There are two important lessons we can draw out of this story:Firstly we need to enquire of the Lord. We need to seek His voice for our lives. We cannot try to take action without first waiting on God. When we hear and obey God, it puts us on track to be where He wants us.Secondly, when we do this, God will Recover and Restore everything in our lives. More than just things, He will Recover and Restore us. Our love of the Word. Our desire to pray. Our love for Him.Finally, when we look at the story of David’s life, we need to see that Saul was the people’s choice and David was God’s choice. When we go with God’s choice, we experience His Recovery and Restoration. What has God been saying to you? If you aren’t sure, how will you enquire of the Lord? What do you need God to Recover and Restore? In what areas of your life do you need to lay down your own plans and submit to God’s way?
