Good morning! It's great to be back together this morning for worship. Over the past few weeks, we have been actively involved in managing our renovation of 721 N Parkway, our future home base for ministry (it's going great by the way!). Every time I visit the construction site, I ask questions of our contractors (I'm sure they love me): Are we....? Should we.... ? What if we.....? Without fail, they walk me over to a little table where they display the blue prints for the building. They begin to show me on the blue prints the "why" behind the "what" of the everything they are doing. It all fits the original desires & plans of our design process. If we just follow those plans, we can be guaranteed the outcome that we originally desired. We have named today a "Vision Sunday" for our church. What is this all about? Well, it's a day for us to walk over to the little table together and look at the blue prints of God's Word (His design) for our lives and our church. As we continue to grow and gain new opportunities, I am ever aware of the need to continue to articulate (and re-articulate) our identity, our purposes, and the desire of God. We must always keep strong, biblical vision and passion before us as we move into each new season. There are a lot of things we could do but not everything we should do. Again and again, we must go back to the blueprint and make sure we're building the church God has designed. If we follow these plans, we will continue to experience the wonderful blessing of God and awesome fulfillment of His purposes through us.
