We spent the afternoon at John Ruskin's house at Coniston - the wonderful Brantwood. Ruskin's desire for fairness in society seems particularly apt at the moment since we are rolling back a lot of the changes he advocated for but never saw in his lifetime. Also thinking about his sometimes fragile mental health and his drive to explore the world. A fascinating man (and one no doubt with many flaws & of course was very much the privileged white of his age) I'd like to do some more stuff based on him - have an idea for an installation but that needs time which is in short supply at the moment.... Some of the reverb on this is an IR I recorded on my phone in Ruskin's Ice House - need to take proper gear back and make a higher quality recording but it's a really interesting space
