Vladimir Putin benefits as the West's support for Ukraine wavers

Twelve months ago, Ukraine was optimistic about reclaiming more land after successes against the Russian army. However, the front line is still roughly where it was a year ago and Russia’s grip on the Ukrainian land it still occupies has barely loosened. Meanwhile, political pressure on the military and financial aid being provided by the US and European countries is mounting.
