Vogt Sticks With Winning Lineup | Cleveland Guardians News

Guardians manager Stephen Vogt stunned fans by sticking with the same lineup for two straight games — a rarity after mixing things up 119 times in 130 games. The reason? They dominated the night before with 14 hits and a 9-1 win, giving rookie shortstop Angel Genao his first multi-game start since joining the team in August. Vogt reassured fans that Rocchio still gets plenty of time at shortstop, even if he didn’t start — Genao’s hot hitting contrasts with Rocchio’s dip since the All-Star break. On the mound, Erik Sabrowski is back on track after an elbow injury, going scoreless in seven August outings. Meanwhile, Vogt’s family is in town, DeLauter’s on fire at the plate, and Jose Ramirez moved into fifth in franchise history for career hits. Solid all-around weekend.
