Voice Note 11

from Voice Notes · host Eréndira Jiménez Esquinca

Voice Note 11: Internal to External Change, Financial Fears, and The Vulnerability of Support After a break from recording, I’m sharing an update from the summer— significant internal change that isn’t yet visible externally, alongside feeling blocked mainly by finances. Recognizing I needed support, I initiated a vulnerable conversation with my dad, working through fear rooted in childhood reactions and acknowledging how our relationship has changed over time. The talk became a “release valve” and reminded me of all the care that is available. I reflect on change unfolding in waves, cultural pressure to quickly package inner work into consumable output, and the desire to receive financial resources without turning myself into a product, while moving slowly within parenting and relational boundaries.00:00 Catching Up After Silence00:30 Summer Change Underneath01:17 Money Blocks and Going It Alone02:38 Anxiety and Quiet Depression03:49 The Talk I Needed With Dad07:11 Change Comes in Waves09:01 Resisting Hustle Culture Pressure10:23 Creating Without Self Commodifying11:16 Slow Moving Updates and Closing Get full access to doings/undoings/redoings at erendirajimenezesquinca.substack.com/subscribe
