Stronger penalties for animal abuse and neglect.  Destiny's Story Destiny was a victim of extreme neglect and abuse—left outside without food, water, advanced heartworm positive,  could hardly walk, severe dental disease, suffering from a Mast Cell Tumor larger than a melon hanging heavily in-between her legs, and used solely for breeding. Despite six reports  over a two year span from neighbors, no action was taken by the City Animal Control Director, and no charges have been filed against her original owners. When she was finally rescued and adopted by a loving family, her condition was too severe to overcome. On March 12th, 2025, Destiny succumbed to the effects of prolonged abuse and neglect. Destiny’s case is not an isolated incident. Too many animals suffer due to weak laws and lack of enforcement. Studies show a direct link between animal abuse and violent crime, making this an issue that affects not only animals but society as a whole. Please help us in seeking!
