They avoid these touchy but extremely painful topics at family gatherings even though it’s always simmering beneath the surface. These moms and dads are often estranged from their trans-identifying kids. Their intense anguish is protracted and otherworldly. Worst of all, it’s still mostly hidden from the general public. We’re using fake names for the five parents (four moms and one dad) in today's episode and will only refer to the general region of the country where they live in order to protect their identities given the repercussions they continue to deal with as they fight for their children from the shadows.
