NKJV.Q: Whats got twelve legs and black teeth?A: 3rd Shift at Waffle HouseI’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: -"I love ‘Waffle House!’"Started in 1955 in Georgia, those low-rent, yellow restaurants on the side of the road in the USA are very big business indeed.  If you laid all of the Bacon that Waffle House serves in a year, end-to-end, it would wrap all the way around the equator! That’s over 25,000 miles of a Bacon Belt!! If you could stack all of the Sausage Patties that Waffle House serves in one day on top of each other, it would be near twice the size of the World’s Tallest Building, The Burj Khalifa in Dubai, or four times the size of the Empire State Building! If you poured all of the cups of Coffee that Waffle House serves in one year, it would be enough to fill nearly eight Olympic size swimming pools! And so far (in 2019) Waffle house claim to have served over 2.5 Billion eggs since 1955. In addition to this, I have to tell you that the Waffle House waitresses are a breed apart, and in my opinion, they are to be experienced rather than to be described, 'God bless their hearts!' For me, the fun part of their food order delivery to the ever-frying short-order cook is, in turn, a never to be forgotten short order diner dictation service! Hashed brown potatoes, for example, are called in as, “scattered” (that's spread on the grill), “smothered” (with onions, that is,) or “covered” (with cheese), and oh, by the way, everything is covered in cheese in America! Now there’s a three-point Waffle House sermon if ever there was one! “The Church: Scattered, Smothered and Covered!”Our text for tonight informs us that God allowed a 'Religious Rottweiler' to be let loose within the gentle flock of His church and that dog's name was Saul of Tarsus. As he ripped the flock apart like a rabid mastiff, not only were body parts and blood scattered all over the place, but the very people of God themselves were also scattered like speaking seeds across the face of the then known world, smothering it with the Good News about Jesus. Yes, even in the face of such terrible persecution, these early followers of 'The Way' smothered the demographic landscape with their tears and the savory knowledge of God’s goodness toward us in Jesus Christ our Lord, and then covered the land with the spicy practice of the all gracious and all-forgiving love of God. It is obvious to me, that God even used this 'Religious Rottweiler' to harry his sheep into obeying His command to take the Gospel into the entire world. Therefore, if you are being ‘chunked.’ ‘diced,’ ‘peppered,’ ‘capped,’ and ‘topped,’ all along your tired way today, then I have to tell you tonight, that God maybe also has a purpose for all the 'Religious Rottweiler’s' that are in your life at the moment as well, for though they may be destroying some stuff, they are also pushing you somewhere. So tell me then, where are they driving you tonight? Maybe that’s where you should be going anyway?
