郑怡，台湾民歌时代标志性歌手。1981年，其玲珑剔透、清脆嘹亮的嗓音因《月琴》一曲成名，歌中“再唱一段思想起”成为后来民歌纪念活动主题。后转战流行乐坛，郑怡婉约、质朴的嗓音同样大受欢迎，是台湾民歌时代过渡到唱片工业时代的推动者。《小雨来得正是时候》发表于1983年，是郑怡首张专辑的同名主打，也是李宗盛作为传奇制作人的开启。歌曲诞生时正值民歌时代的尾声，包括首次发表词曲作品的小虫，他们的摸索前行与英姿勃发，象征了台湾流行音乐进入新时代。
