陈廷敬（1638－1712），字子端，号说岩，山西泽州（今晋城）人，是清初著名的政治家、文学家和书法家，历仕顺治、康熙两朝，官至文渊阁大学士兼吏部尚书，为康熙帝所倚重。他主持编纂《康熙字典》，是中国历史上第一部以“字典”命名的权威辞书，影响深远。陈廷敬为官清廉，处事公正，长期掌管朝廷财政与人事，尤以整顿吏治、革除弊政著称。他学识渊博，诗文典雅，书法亦佳，是清初儒臣典范。
