刘蓉（1816－1873），字孟容，号霞仙，湖南湘乡人，是晚清湘军重要将领、理学家和教育家。他早年追随曾国藩，参与镇压太平天国运动，历任陕西巡抚、四川总督等职。在任期间，整肃吏治、兴修水利、整顿财政，政绩斐然。他注重教育，提倡理学，主张“经世致用”，对地方治理与人才培养有深远影响。
