Vols Face Furman in Season Opener | Tennessee Volunteers Football News

Tennessee football kicks off their season this Saturday against Furman in a high-stakes home opener, with freshman QB Faizon Brandon making history as the first true freshman to start a Vols home game since 2004. Coach Heupel is bullish on Brandon’s growth and work ethic, while the defense, led by new coordinator Jim Knowles, looks to step up—especially on the edge, where injuries and ineligibilities create openings for emerging talent. Expect a dominant win for Tennessee, but execution will be key; Furman’s only path to an upset? A string of improbable breaks and Tennessee’s own missteps.
