VOODOO EVIDENCE
from MOFLOW · host MOFLOW RECORDS
VOODOO EVIDENCE by Empire City Nights Empire City - 1984. A shooting beneath a bridge has just ended. Two gangsters lie dead on the ground, taken down after a failed attempt to fight back against the E.C.P.D. Officers Hardtop and Foulder secure the scene. Hardtop searches one of the bodies. Hidden inside the lining of a jacket, he finds a black, rigid card bearing the address of a club. A V-Card. On the back, a symbol and a sequence of numbers stand out. A radio frequency. . . An emergency call comes in. Residents have reported strange drums coming from a closed club near the city park. When they arrive, two men are waiting outside. They claim they’ve been hearing voodoo-like drums coming from the club almost every night, even though the place appears abandoned. Foulder notices a symbol at the entrance. On one wall, partially faded, is the same mark as on the card. The same symbol they saw in Miami two years ago. They leave the scene, unsettled and reminded of what happened back then—when they first crossed paths. In the days that follow, Empire City begins to change in subtle ways. Some people stay awake without reason. Others gather briefly, then drift apart without speaking. Phrases begin to circulate, repeated without any clear origin. Late one night, on an empty street, Hardtop looks at the card one last time. Foulder puts it simply: whatever started in Miami is spreading here. Across the city, the rhythm continues. It’s the cult.
