I’m not a writer. I’m a storyteller. But I was inspired by Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 to create a voting song of my own. I used the short, syncopated phrasing, the repetition, and that country sound to create something new. Then I used an app called Songster to produce the song I created. Why? Because I wanted to get people interested in voting. I don’t want to be complicit in the way our government is being run by sitting quietly and doing nothing. I want better choices, better representation, and a government that represents the people it serves. And that starts with understanding something simple: you have a voice, and you have a choice. If you want better choices, you have to use your voice. Vote for the representation you want and deserve. Because if you don’t make choices for yourself, someone else will make them for you. Vote for the future you want. Don’t let someone else choose it for you. I’m a storyteller. This is my way of telling a story that I hope inspires someone to take action. Felix Caldwell #IFelixYou
