VOTE: Voting says "I count," says former U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards.

from Emunah (Hebrew for faith, belief) · host Tamara M. Cooke Henry, Ph.D.

Having former Democratic U.S. Rep. Donna Edwards speak to Emunah listeners about the importance of voting is a God-ordained coup for co-hosts Tamara and Charisse. Her wide breath of knowledge and experience are evident in her answers to questions about the biggest challenges people face as they head to the polls and the reasons why Americans should have confidence in the election process. I think that voting is not just a responsibility, its an obligation of citizenship, Edwards says. Its a bottomline obligation. Edwards represented Marylands 4th District for five terms in Congress, from 2008 to 2017. She served on the committees on Transportation and Infrastructure, Science, Sace and Technology and Ethics, and on the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission. Before her time in office, she worked at the Goddard Space Flight Center with the Spacelab program, and also had a successful career in philanthropy and nonprofit advocacy. Edwards provides political commentary regularly on NBC, MSNBC and Fox. She is a former Washington Post contributing columnist too. I love voting because its my way of saying I count, that my family count, that my children count, she said. And finally, she stressed, Its important to pray for our leaders no matter who they are.
