R$N Recs sub-label, Insult to Injury, are over the moon to welcome two heavyweight heroes of the underground scene, Messrs Antoni Maiovvi and Hyetal, under their new collaborative moniker, Votives. In an alchemy that blurs the boundaries between dystopian EBM, raw Electro and the UK’s lineage of bass driven dance music, their creative collision has crystallised into this banger of an EP. Individually recognised as outsider innovators in their respective fields, the pair have converged to unleash a self titled record that stands as a testament to their shared reverence for vintage synths and drum machines, alongside futuristic digital sound design and experimental processing. Working between London and New England, USA, the duo have bridged the physical gap, concocting a distinct sound that retains traces of the musical soil of Bristol, where they originally met, and merges retro-futurism with the cutting edge.
