Hey everyone, welcome to Moth Therapy. I'm Robin and today I want to talk about kind of putting yourself out in the world in a vulnerable manner I've moved about let's see one two three three technically four times in my life almost every time it was moving to a different country I mean from France to the US back to France back to the US and I won in college And what I found is that the most effective way to make very quality friendships is to present yourself in a vulnerable manner in the world Now it's it's not it's not an easy thing and I'm not gonna say that it's an easy thing But what I found is that when you present yourself in a vulnerable manner meaning when you present yourself as you really are I'm not trying to hide any of your traits. You are showing who you really are So what happens then is if someone does not like you for who you really are you don't have to worry about it Because you don't have to think about what you were trying to portray what happens is sometimes we put on a personality Or we kind of we seem we like to seem a certain way to attract a certain type of person But then what happens is you do that for a couple people and you have to keep track every time of what you have to change about yourself to for the other person to like you and You might get that mixed up there might be a moment where you even like show yourself in a vulnerable manner and the person who you've impressed By faking a certain aspect of your personality might not want to hang out with you anymore And what I found is that if you show yourself in a very vulnerable manner meaning if you show who you really are Directly since day one with someone you do not have to keep track of what personality Personality traits you're faking if someone does not like you when you show yourself in a vulnerable manner then you don't have to worry about it because that's who you really are and The people who are gonna like you when you show yourself in a vulnerable manner are gonna like you for who you really are and you Don't have to keep track of what person personality traits you're faking now when I say in a vulnerable manner I do not need and do not mean needy. I don't mean like texting someone every two seconds I don't mean hanging out with someone like the entire entire day or Just clinging on to someone because you don't want to be alone or something like that What I mean by interacting with someone in a vulnerable manner is not changing your opinions because they might not agree with you I mean Not hiding your insecurities.

I mean things like that I mean not lying to them not lying to yourself to lighter them and not lying to them It's it's really the most effective way because I would always feel terrible when I know I haven't Acted in my true self and sometimes that wasn't even It wasn't even obvious sometimes I kind of got tricked by I don't know I tricked myself into acting in a way that wasn't me and Not even conciency, but I would feel terrible and that was my subconscious telling me like hey That's not who you really are and if you become friends with that person They might not become friends with you. They might become friends with the person who you were portraying yourself as and those are two very different people and Yeah, so just TLDR TLDR Show the world who you really are If since day one if you haven't been doing that just start that now you might you might lose friends Maybe maybe if you're about to start college don't start it now and started on the first day of college But really do not lie to yourself do not lie to others even if it's not in a mean way just Embrace who you are because the people who are gonna like that are gonna like you Thank you for listening
