W2M EP 167: WWE 2K16 Review, A Possible WWE Brand Split, & More

from Wrestling 2 the MAX · host Gary Vaughan, Sean Garmer, Paul Leazar

We hope everyone had a great Halloween and we apologize for being out four days later than normal, but Comcast having outages where Sean lives made it impossible for us to do the podcast until Sunday Night. It looks like things are up and running again and presto we have this week’s W2M Podcast. We will still have another episode on Friday morning as well, just in case you are wondering. We do have a special topic for you, especially since RAW is going to be really old since this is coming out on a Monday morning. This week, we headline with a special topic about the possibility of WWE doing another brand split. Would it be feasible for WWE to do? Could it stimulate some creative juices and help make Smackdown mean something? Or would it just create bigger problems for WWE instead? We discuss these questions and more. Sean also has his review of WWE 2K16 on this episode as well. However, we do start things as usual with Quick Hits (7:45-39:00), where we talk about Kurt Angle signing with Bellator and if he does well there, if WWE could have any interest, we talk about some of the Q3 2015 WWE Financials and what WWE’s plans are with the WWE Network going forward, WWE possibly having their own fitness centers, The story of Alberto Del Rio’s contract, Young Bucks signing permanently with ROH, Cheeseburger at Wrestle Kingdom 10, Jerry Lawler’s accident, plus Paul gives his thoughts on WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 at the end as well. After that, we get into our questions about what was a damn good WWE RAW (39:00-69:00 or 39 minutes- 1 hour and 9 mins). Then we give our thoughts on this week’s NXT (69:00-84:00 or 1 hour and 9 mins- 1 hour and 24 mins,) which featured a wonderful Tag Team match in it and also Samoa Joe vs. Tyler Breeze as well.Next is our special topic on the possibility of a WWE Brand Extension happening again in 2015 or 2016 (84:00-95:00 or 1 hour and 24 mins- 1 hour and 35 mins)We end our talk about WWE with Sean giving his thoughts on his time with WWE 2K16 (95:00-105:20 or 1 hour and 35 mins- 1 hour and 45 mins) here too. How are the new reversal and submission systems? Has the career mode improved? What about that 2K Showcase mode featuring Stone Cold Steve Austin? Sean discusses all of that. We finish things out with our reviews of this week’s ROH TV (105:20-112:30 or 1 hour and 45 mins- 1 hour and 52 mins,) TNA Impact Wrestling (112:30-117:15 or 1 hour and 52 mins- 1 hour and 57 mins) and the continuing World Title Series, and of course the W2M Power Rankings (117:15-End or 1 hour and 57 mins- End) as well.
