Wacha Shines, Royals Fall in Extra Innings | Kansas City Royals News

Michael Wacha tossed six scoreless innings, hitting a new career-high in innings pitched this season and surpassing his 2015 mark—yet the Royals still fell 5-3 in extra innings, marking their first losing season since 2023. Arizona’s Corbin Burnes made his 2026 debut after UCL surgery, pitching three shutout frames, while the D-backs seized control in the 8th and 9th before holding off a late Royals rally capped by a two-run homer that forced extra innings. Arizona now looks to sweep the series in the finale. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
