The Stanford Steve and the Bear podcast is presented by DraftKings, America's top rated daily fantasy app. The underdog is howling. This is Stanford Steve and the Bear. Ah yes, a home team getting points.
What's better than that? Coming up, plenty of week 12 picks from the Bear and I Bear already has something circled early in the week. A max in story about the wagon wheel if you will not want to miss. We do have a steamer and we will not.
We promise we will not discuss what's wrong in Happy Valley or Ann Arbor as it seems like it's getting tired in those places and people that want to hear anymore about those teams. Also, how does a 25 year old two time MVP, Janice Antitikumpo get drafted 15th overall in a week draft class? Adrian Wojnowski investigated twists and turns that led to a franchise and league altering selection in 2013. A three part series that tells this unique story including interviews with individuals close to the process as well as a one on one sit down with Janice, the Greek freak himself.
Check out the Wojabod special, the Janice draft wherever you find your podcast and don't forget to subscribe to Stanford Steve and the Bear. Welcome in. The Bear is back from Augusta, I am back from Las Vegas. Things are good.
It's week 12. Bear, how are we feeling? I'm probably not feeling as good as you are after a get out of the old stadium swim there at circa. You jealous?
It's incredible. It really is. Shut up to the guys at circa Mike Pond, Mike Van Erman, Derek Stevens, just the idea of the I just kept telling them you guys said you were going to do it and they did it. I tell them I've been to college football stadiums all over the place, NFL stadiums and that place exceeded my expectations.
It's absolutely incredible. You can see no built downtown on the strip Fremont on the other side opposite the Golden Nugget and it's Derek's new project, baby. Casino, whatever you want to call it, but they've done an incredible job. Everybody's masked up.
It's not your normal scene you would normally get, but was able to get part taken a couple restaurants, berries and steak houses incredible. Eighties, does their Thai food, that's awesome. But stadium swim is a outdoor sports book. That's just incredible.
Blackjack tables were open Saturday, did not go down. I heard that the Blackjack set up is kind of for the true hardcore is only these days. Yes. I mean, with the partitions, it still feels like the Nugget had those.
It's still just, I don't know, it looks a little close than I want. And then other places have just the two seats so that there isn't a natural social justice. But it's just, people are having a couple cocktails. I want people coming up to me and touching me and all that stuff.
So I did not partake in any table games. But I did have a little cabana and that worked out very well with the VC guys, Matt Eumens, Mitch Moss, Brady Cannon came over to settle in for a little master's before Sunday. Had a couple DJs, Sir, could put out their odds. They're golf odds.
I mean, how do you explain it? I'll help a lot longer than I. Have you ever seen anything the way they do golf odds? No, it's great.
I mean, it just goes to trade. The less hold, the more that goes back into the, into the points. It's great. It's usually futures and pools like that are the least beneficial towards the player, but they make it, they put it in such a way where the player actually has a chance.
It's great. There was a point, I think it was just a rose got to 700, I'm sitting there holding 81 to one ticket. I'm just a rose. I'm like, come on.
But all right. Well, that was it. Augusta, that looked awesome. Van Pelle was on with you.
Yeah, it was great. I'm giving you picks or no? I mean, it would have not be for us. It would have been enough for us.
It would have been enough for us. It would have been enough for us to pick him to not do it. Winter's recap either. It was great.
It was kind of just a perfect segue between Talwood football and Dolph, and just getting his, he could be an analyst on our show. He really could be. He's a game- Watcher. No, he's a game- Watcher.
It's great. He would have been in perfectly. So it was good to see him. I haven't seen him since, gosh, I can't tell you.
The night before the Belmont when I was on with him on your show. So it would have been one or five months ago. Yes. Crazy.
Well, we're here. It's week 12. We're covering the dumpster fires, say, in Arbor and in Happy Valley. I don't want to talk about those teams.
I want to talk about teams that we've brought up before people like Coastal should be ranked, Indiana fight song, give me Liberty or give me debt. Notre Dame Moneyline. How about that effort, Respondent? That was really impressive.
That was the week one. That kind of stunk is one of those really trendy dogs of people all week long. Oh, the last time Notre Dame beat number one, you know what happened. That lost to BC and the way that number moved.
It turned out to be a pretty good play, even though I think the officials did do a good job. That onside kick that. I mean, that was like, I was shocked that got overturned, but when Notre Dame was the right side, they moved the ball, that field of willing. It's good.
I'm interested to see what happened in Happy Valley. That's going to be a great idea. That'll be a very entertaining high scoring game. But yeah, good for Notre Dame for doing their job and getting past that potential trap game last week.
Just like that. Good thing that Carolina came back and won too. That would have been horrific. Oh, that by the way, that went from being an outright double digit outright dog went to like near miracle backdoor cover for them.
That was crazy. Right side covered eventually got there. You know what was really hard is on the TV's at Stadium Swim to lane in those absolutely perfect, gorgeous baby blue uniforms against army. And then the TV below it was Carolina and week four.
Oh, same course. Very similar. You're sitting there like you had to do a double check of the uniforms just because they were very similar. One other thing I wanted to bring up that was the talk of the off season.
Okay. Speaking of dumpster fires, this one might be the biggest one in the country. But no, even worse. And they beat Elsie.
No, not Stanford. We will get to that. Maybe not. How many people this off season tweeted, man, I cannot wait for the egg bowl.
Get me to the egg bowl. How about that? Just wait, I can't wait to see Mike Leach's offense and the SEC. How awesome is that going to be?
Yeah, it's something else. All right. Oh, I just had to bring it up because it just drove me nuts. Like people don't even know what the egg bowl is.
We're wanting it just because they thought it was cool to tweet about it. Thank God for laying it all missed. I actually did get me away last week. So I got my bad.
I'm happy about that. Thinking about wearing a brown paper bag on the game based on Saturday. All right. All right.
You do what you guys do. We're at 14 and seven. We're good. Yeah.
We're going to follow us. Yeah. Now we're below 500. It's terrific.
Hey, it's. Okay. Marathon. Correct.
We got to talk Indiana. I'll have state. Paul Stone came over to the command and we're sitting there and he makes his own lines and he's one of those guys that goes off of that and we're sitting there and you know, in the end goes final. I'll have state.
Obviously didn't play and we're talking. So what do you think that line's going to be? And he says between, you know, around between 17 and 20 and I'm like, wow. And you just think about the idea of Indiana, you know, coming out, you know, beating the teams.
They are first time there for an all the big 10 since 87 haven't been Ohio State's 88. I think there's a tie in there and then all of a sudden it pops Ohio State minus 20 and a half. When I look at this though, I just steal. I still wonder about Ohio State secondary Indiana was it fried fogle.
Like 11 and 200 last week. I think that's just guys. But is Indiana's defense like, all right. Yeah, they beat Michigan.
Got it. Shout out Michigan State understood. You know, got the win against Penn State. What do you think of them in their totality as a team as they line up against Ohio State?
I don't think they can win the game. I don't think they can drive the ball to the field. I think between. So you're in Stevie Scott and I think they have players who can maybe get one or two big plays here or there.
But they have a very least the back door will be open late for back door cover. But but you hit on a couple of things there like this Ohio State defense. If you look analytically, last year they were second in the country in like defensive officials. This year it's down to 36th.
So I mean there clearly are some issues whether in the secondary and the line of scrimmage. They just got the same right now as what they've been an Indiana. Like I said, sure they have struggled offensively. They only have the 200 yards against Penn State.
But at the same time, they got some some some big play guys on offense and defensively, like if you look at the schedule adjusted expected points added from the defense, they're sixth in the country. So like defensively, they've done a hell of a job. Now, I see it's got a natural problems with fields. You try to contain it, keep them from running.
You try to force them to throw. So there are issues and this is certainly going to be the best offense that Indiana has faced. And there certainly is the question about competition amongst the teams in Indiana is played. I think one of the three and 13 with two of the wins coming against each other.
So I get none of the same question about their name schedule leading into the comes again. Like they weren't really great teams. So if I had to play the game, I know typically when spreads and top 10 match ups look bigger than what you think they would be, I tend to lean towards laying the points because I think it's kind of a trap to take the dog. But I think the way Indiana is playing with the confidence and the belief and the ability to hit a big play here or there maybe, if I had to play it, I would consider taking Indiana plus the points just because I do think there's enough there on paper between Indiana's defense and the ability of the receivers against secondary maybe to get a big play here and there.
Yeah, it's in the office pool, you know, in this game's there. I'll circle at the end and take the points. I don't love it at all. It's just a very eye popping line, you know, you're just like, all right, you know, undefeated top 10 match up and boom, 20 and a half points red.
You know, you just, you don't get that. I did want to touch on fields and I had a prop question for you. Fields, 86% this year on 83 attempts, it's the same number of challenges in completion. Zero interceptions.
Do you think he throws an interception against Indiana? Indiana's has 10 interceptions on the season. Does Fields throw a pick? No.
I've got to say no. Okay. All right. Also at noon.
I think this is going to be a pick. Textured to the last night. I just think I have to take them. We do have to tease.
Steamer. We do have one. Maybe we'll do it right after this game because this you thought this was going to be the steamer. And this is actually going to be probably one of my picks.
And that is former Clemson minus 35 Trevor Lawrence is back. It looks like Mike Jones is back. Tyler Davis is a scholarship is going to be out. I saw that was said, ladson.
The freshman receiver is out, but Clemson's land 35. It's a noon game. It's in Tallahassee. They won 45 14 last year.
I talked about Cincinnati last week and wanting to win and get style points. I think Clemson is going to get as many style points as he can. Florida State has lost three in a row. I believe since that Carolina win.
They, you know, on Wilson, the detacles out. Tomorrow is the receiver is out. I think Travis is going to be back a quarterback, but I don't think it matters. I'm going to lay the 35 here with Clemson knowing.
I'm interested to see what they look. You know, Bressi, he see, uh, Dabo said the injury. He had good news. It wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be, but he didn't give any details.
So I was still waiting to see. I just think with Trevor back, it's going to be. Yeah, I'm. Staying along the lines of that Georgia tech game we saw earlier this year, where they came out and did whatever they wanted thoughts on Clemson and your impressions seen him since the first time.
Yeah, they'd pay homage to a couple of years ago, when we had this game in Tallahassee, we were introduced to the shirtless professor reading a book, a do Campbell stadium solo to the. Oh, to the top. I would agree. This is a Florida state team.
I think that I don't want to say the season has been mailed in, but at the same time, I think there are issues with the guys who walked out. some injuries that they've had. So this does seem like a situation where Clemson is going to at least attempt to put up a massive number 35 is a lot though. It is basically saying Clemson is going to have probably got to score 50 to cover.
It's 49 14 49 14 is a bunch of a blowout is that is that still doesn't get there. It does seem like a it's a stay away game for me. I had to play it. I'd like it.
I mean, I got 52 17 is a complete drumming and that's that. That's push. Correct. I think it's going to 60.
That's that's going to be 60. And then then 60 would get it done. First half will be what? 20.
I might even be more thought would probably be. They'll make it 21. They'll make it 21. But the same I don't think there's any drop off though from like first half of the second.
I thought would be like light in the first half. And maybe they take a foot up the guys a little bit in a second. But I think we've seen the Clemson offensive drop off with Trevor Lawrence out like the offense is just as good. Yeah.
That's why I'm going to lay in first half. It's over 65 and a half seems like an over. I feel more confident about the over 65 than I would lay in 30. Especially Travis, please.
Yeah. You know, all right. We'll go well last week, but we got another one and actually coincides with what our conversation was with the with our guide a dog and you'll be there. It's bedlam and the steamer is Oklahoma minus seven Oklahoma minus seven is your steamer.
You had some numbers on this game. The first time this has been double did not a double digit. What was that in your notes this week? What did I had a couple of things I got it right here.
I got these two and 13 versus the sooner's. This is just a six time. O U is a favor of less than 10 points. Oh, you know, I worry.
Yeah. Yeah, against, you know, in this bedlam, Oklahoma is one of the previous five and covered four of them. Okay. And then the other one, which I had looked up for the Texas game, which is another, you would think Oklahoma may be susceptible to an upset single digit favorite.
If you go back in the regular season games since 2015, the sooner's have been a favor to seven points a few or nine times, they've won all nine games and are eight, own one against the numbers. And I think that's a little bit vulnerable is kind of weird how they are the team that is more prone to lose as a massive favor and you have that shocking upset. Yeah. Then when you think there is a team that talent wise might be at their level.
So I was a little surprised that the number was always seven. I thought it might be more. Really? Obviously, I thought it would be closer to double digits.
I don't want to sit off. It's not really impressed me this year. I know defensively. They're really good.
I think Oklahoma is kind of coming to their own area. You could say it's due to the fact that they put Kansas and gotten right on offense the couple of weeks. But I thought it might be double digits here. So I kind of like the way the head dog is thinking.
I'm sure he's got a little bit of the rivalry. Yeah. Let's boil a little bit this week. He's thinking back to his own bedlam days when he's calling players in the sideline with Barry.
I'm not sure he's a little bit of a fan coming out in a mirror. But I'll be there. And I will subconsciously be hoping the head dog gets the steamer home and we have a competitive game on Saturday night because we haven't had a competitive game since the Rose Bowl. Wow.
That's not why. I know the ABC front time crew is really hoping that we have a close game on Saturday. That was a good game. We had another really good one on Saturday night.
That was perfect. Yikes. That was over really, really fast. Yeah.
I just question goes back to what people's, it's amazing how people's perceptions change. But like, all right, Oklahoma has fixed everything against Kansas, Texas Tech, and TCU. Those are three not good teams. Yeah, Oklahoma State's been really puzzling.
That's a stay away for me. But that's our steamer for the week and we love the steamer. So go get a coach. You mentioned a disappointment.
I said, I don't want to really talk about disappointments, but I couldn't help but see LSU is favored at Arkansas. Yeah, I think that's probably some COVID scheme. There were reports out there about Felipe Frank's possibly being out. They lost a receiver for the year due to any injury.
So I think it's a, and it could be one of those two where maybe the dam finally broke last week with Florida. I'll put up a big number against Arkansas and maybe that kind of sends the other Razorback season down the spiral a little bit of it. I have a hard time playing this game because I just don't know what to expect from LSU. Yeah, I mean, anything I might lean towards the over here, just the last time we saw it, I mean, Auburn went up and downfield on it.
Yeah. Was that was embarrassing? It's, I mean, Finley's one and one is a starter now. Too bad for Brennan.
I saw it say that he's probably not going to return this year. Pit should be back on the sidelines at least for Wu Pig, which is I think a huge plus in knowing what he's meant to that team, that program. Yeah, if there's, I didn't even think of that and I can't believe I didn't with the COVID things, but I just think about what would it had to be a 40 point favorite last year against Arkansas, right? Yes.
I was going to say you mentioned McKenzie before. Like, I mean, it was a 40 point spread and I get one point Arkansas was favored like it would have been like this ridiculous swing of being a free point of 12 one year to favor the next, which is pretty, pretty unbelievable. Arkansas has only lost the ranked teams this year, Georgia, A&M, Auburn and Florida. So let's use on rank.
There you go. You need to pick that game. There's your logic. But yeah, all right.
Cool. Keep an eye on there. But this, but this goes into again what we've talked about all year. It's so hard to, to pick these games.
It's a bit with all of the potential of players being out games being canceled. It's just, it's kind of been a bummer in that regard that we don't, we're not able to have a super strong opinion on a ton of these early in the week, just because of so many, and everybody's dealing with the same thing. I'm not, I'm not trying to make everybody feel sorry, but it's like, you hear these rumors and like you really want to play Arkansas, if we pick Frank's out? No, not at all.
Not at all. I'm thinking that, you know, Arkansas is going to be as good as possible. And I, you know, I, I first inclination was big right there on that one. Yeah.
So that would be my presentation as well. But again, you take Arkansas. You take Arkansas, you take Arkansas plus two and a half right now. And then you find out that, like Barry Lovey Jr.
is under center for Arkansas and Saturday instead of, for your college football fans, they're former great Arkansas quarterback, who's probably in his mid 50s right now. Like that's what you're dealing with and that number jumps to me and you're on the wrong side of a terrible number. So it's just hard to hard to be super confident right now. Kansas is back on the schedule on the schedule.
Yes they are. Bye. They host Texas minus 29 and a half over under 58. Everybody.
Lost on the KU lost on the last second field ball 50 to 48 last year. Texas 13 takeaways this year. KU's averages losses are by 33 and a half points. Jalen Daniels, true freshman looks to be back.
OU second nine times his last time out. I was looking at KU's roster 32 for true freshman 24 have played. They also had a third player opt out this week. You got to keep the trend going and go against the J-Hawks, right?
Yeah. I mean, I don't think people really take a look at some of the superlatives and statistics. I don't think people still are grasping how bad this Kansas team is. They are awful.
And I think people are still out there like, let's not always say they're going to get better now. It ain't happening this year. They are terrible. And I know they nearly the last couple of years.
They've nearly won. They've been greater than a two touchdowner at all each of the last couple of years and last year on that last second field goal and then lost the year before one in a one score game and beat them in 2016 is a big dub. But this is a talent devoid of talent. I can't just say it's a hard thing to say, give me Kansas.
The point right here is much as they have given Texas statistics. Last year Kansas at least had a competent offense and a quarterback who could play or running back. Yes. There's nothing there, man.
Nothing. Nothing. Special teams are awful. The whole thing is just, I don't know.
I actually thought the line was going to be higher. That's why it kind of sticks out to me. App State and Coastal. I was looking at some numbers in this one.
And I mean, obviously Coastal's have a year they've never had before. But App State and I mean, another thing is Coastal's, what do you want to say, overturned all their misfortunes from years past against teams. App State is outscored. Coastal 246 to 118 in the six wins.
They've played six times, six App State wins. Zach Thomas is the thing here. App State was a steamer. Last week he goes out with a whiplash injury.
But he's been good. He went, I looked at last year's game just for people interested in that stuff. He was 19 to 23 for 246 and two touchdowns last year as App State beat Coastal in Boone 56-37. One other interesting, no, this could be a trivia question for you.
Maybe for the guys on game. I don't know. You know what, they all listen to the pot so they'll know this by now. Last time they beat a ranked team.
App State. My notes tell me. Oh, no, no, that was the other way around Georgia. So I'll say we got to take that right.
Yep. Is it Michigan? It is. It is seven straight.
They've lost. Yeah, because Chris, remember I didn't. Was it Miami? Miami was ranked one year when we were saying like, why is Miami going to Boone, North Carolina, and I'm going to beat them relatively easily.
Yeah. That's a chance of my right. Yeah. So it's a good nugget for you.
It was Tennessee ranked that one year early in the year where they nearly went and beat the balls. Yeah. I'm pretty sure they're going in the year. I mean, if they've lost seven straight, that was in 2007.
They played seven ranked opponents. They hardly ever play a ranked opponent in a bowl game. So you're not getting very many teams ranked in the Sun Belt. And then after that Michigan game, you're not really getting for him any ranked.
Right. Power five teams who were scheduling. Yeah. They played the, they played a lot of us here the year after that game, two or after that game.
And let's hear beat them easily on under that. Yeah. Let's see. App State.
There was a Penn State game where they laid late in one of losing. Yes. Oh, man. What a Hackenberg.
I don't know. Oh, well Penn State historians can look that one up. Yeah. Nothing else to do with the share.
Georgia State 17 points last week. We mentioned the Thomas entry the week before 38 against our Texas State Bobcats on Halloween. They scored 31 against Monroe. They actually haven't played many good teams recently.
10 22, they'd be Arkansas 45 17 and before that they put Campbell. I don't know. I should say about a month before coastal defense to me is the story here. They've been only giving up like 16 again.
They've given up six in our last two games. No CDs in the last 10 quarters. This is this is a new one on the teal on a deuce. This is good.
What do we call those alive lookings? We get those like this one. He's getting live looking for the teal. Lot of Mullah.
It's her. He's going to love the mullet shots. I saw Bucknuts his buddy there. I'm already Smith talking about mullets and shorts.
Oh, he's doing that game. All sorts. Yeah. He's going to have his shorts on doing that one.
He'll be in Georgia to the sport. He should be in a key shirt like you. There you go. What are you thinking?
Five and a half here. App State. I'm watching. I'm just watching the game.
I'm just going to get a bunch back to the room and turn this one on. I don't want to be. I don't want to have to root for or against anyone in this game because I want to keep hope alive that maybe if the shots can win this week and Liberty can win, maybe potentially get an undefeated showdown, Liberty and coastal in a couple of weeks and maybe I can somehow manage to get the showdown that down to that to Myrtle. I will say if I know it's probably going to probably going to change, but if Zach Thomas plays, I would take the over here 48.
Next one is a big one. It's the Big Cat versus Greenie Bowl. It's 330. It is on ABC, Wisconsin minus seven and a half at Northwestern over under 44.
You had Purdue last week, correct on the board? I did have Purdue on the board last week. Yes, I was. Western Western did it again.
Yes. So you're locked in with one with less than 300 yards, couple of short red zone deal goals by Purdue. Yeah, they formula work one more time. You name a player other than Peyton Ramsey on their offense.
I should say that. I know you can. Do you think the average person can? No, no, no, no, no, no other other other person, normal people.
Certainly God, I was going to say I think most people, you couldn't name a person on Northwestern or any other than Peyton Ramsey or Patty Fisher. That's a great call. That's a great call. Even though, I don't know, maybe some people have heard of Bowser.
Maybe. Maybe. Go ahead. If I really want to get the guys on the set, I should just ask them, like, who are Northwestern's three leading wide receivers?
The awesome three leading pass catchers. I say you do it. I say you do it. No shot.
Wisconsin won 24-15 last year. I believe I had Northwestern. But yeah, I mean, you said it. Colton teams under 300 making it as ugly as possible.
They alone themselves rushed for 80 yards on 40 carries last week. You know, it wasn't, it wasn't great. I thought Purdue, I thought you had one with the great fourth down call by Brom. They really got back in the game and then they just, they just couldn't put it together.
Just a couple of brutal. The fumble was tough and I, here's the question to me. I don't know. All right, you were there last week.
What do you think of Wisconsin's defense? Because that's the biggest outlier in this game. Super, they're there. Super, by the way, I just want to say can we just.
Stop. I'm just sloshing back the last week. I'm sorry. Can we just stop with this illusion of like, Ron Delmore.
Just say he's not playing this year. Just stop it. Just enough of the bull. Oh, he got to back in for whatever reason, but he's not playing.
Just eliminate him from any thought of your handicapping. The rest of you, I didn't use that as a handicapping factor. I said, if they get him back in his opponents, that's not what they still can win. But just, when there's a goal, prepare for the draft, do what you need to do and in five.
But don't expect him to play. Wisconsin is what they've always been. Like, it's the same thing every year. They have their player.
They have, they have a mold of the player. It's the same thing. The names change, but the type of player, the type of personnel, let me just say, my few things is legit. I hope, I mean.
You think it's better than Northwestern's? Yes. Wow. Okay.
Okay. Like Jimmy Leonard's a guy who you could. I like to make a, I say something real quick about him. Go right ahead.
There's no way he's the defense coordinator of Wisconsin next year. Well, that's a good segue because what I was going to say is I hope he could easily be the defensive coordinator for the next 20 years at Wisconsin. If he wanted to be, do you think he has head coaching aspirations? Like, I mean, I guess I'll check on my Wisconsin sources, but I would hire that guy as a head coach in a second.
Oh, I would too. But at the same time, like, you know it every year at Wisconsin, you are going to have a cop, 10 15-ish defense. You're going to be in every game. You're going to have good kids on the roster.
They're going to compete. They're going to try. Like, it's like a coaches dream to be able to be Wisconsin and just be a part of that program that coaches, like there are no headaches. They're being the defensive coordinator Wisconsin.
I mean, maybe he does want to be a head coach. If he does, then, then, then, then, God bless him in good luck. But, like, wow, you're going to be a guy in a perfect situation for as long as he wants to be there. He's there.
But yeah, it is. I understand. I love the guy. I absolutely love them as a player.
I love the one he was with the Jets, too. Those are the days. I want to judge for winning games, Bear. No, don't win any of this year.
Keep that zero. Keep that zero in the win column this year. All right. All right.
So you get the checks versus Anthony Lane. I mean, that's a, that's going to have to be. Where is it? Met life?
No, no. It's at the homeless, the home field advantageless, uh, Georgia stadium out there. Um, so you would lay the seven and a half air. Yeah, I would.
Okay. Yeah, I don't, I don't love it. I don't love to. But if I, again, this is going to be on everybody's pick and sheet and, but, uh, yeah, I would.
Okay. Um, you mentioned you actually have some things circled already early in this week, which is very rare. It is rare. What, uh, what do you have circled, my friend?
Yeah. Who told? Yeah. Oh, the bear.
Nice. But what do we got here? I believe they guess we're times calls for desperate measures, right? Absolutely.
George Mississippi state under like how does, if Georgia's defense is motivating? And that's obviously a question mark after all of their hopes or dash and, um, I know, Steven is really interesting to see how it's going. I'm ready for when you're done saying talking about this team, but how is Georgia doesn't want Mississippi state to score. They won't.
Okay. offensive line is terrible. Missed me a defense good. So I don't think Georgia's going to put up a ton of points in the scheme either.
So like I see about 45 out there. 44 and a half I see right now. I how do they get there? It's great.
It's like 3410. Like is Georgia in its score 34 points? I don't know. Like 3410 is kind of what the the numbers telling you with Georgia at 20, 25 point.
Five point. Georgia minus 25 over under 44. Yeah. I would go one.
I would go under 44 and a half there. And I would go over the over in the Liberty NC State. And it was like something. I was getting to that one.
I have that. I have that. Where's the 66? 66.
66. 66. 66. That's an over.
Liberty is not stopping NC State. And I don't think NC State. Remember, NC State couldn't stop the hurricane and Liberty's got a pretty damn good mobile quarterback as well. So I think this is a game easily where both teams are into the 30s.
And I'm usually not the guy to be playing over in college football. It's why I don't go give back to many totals because I I prefer more more of an under type and trillion type look. But I see I see easily both teams getting into the 30s in the same going over. So do you have something else to say about Georgia by the way?
I'm sorry. No, no, no moving on. Moving on. Liberty Liberty and NC State.
I will be shocked. Shocked if the winner of this game doesn't score 40. Yeah, we'll be shocked. Kind of how I see it.
All right. What else? I hate to do it because they've been a great story. And it's a team that we we talked about late last year when they were in games and winning games and getting hot and they were kind of off the radar and it was at San Jose State.
I don't know if I like the spot for them this week. That's tough one. Laying a small number on the road against a good Fresno offense. I'd be I'd be inclined here to take a Fresno State plus the two and a half at home against their against San Jose State.
And I'm going to I'm going to take UCF as a home dog. You are. Yeah. What's that six now?
Yeah. I think that's just too many points for a team that is going to score a ton of points. I know what it was since now he hasn't learned more than 17 all year long to an FPS opponent. But this is a really good.
I know you see a steepness is garbage. Like this garbage bad awful like Cincinnati could score a ton of points. So this maybe could be another over type game. But I think you see it at home after losing to Cincinnati last year.
Cincinnati's kind of getting recognized now. Noticing there in the newsroom for scoring late last week against East Carolina. What happened there? That was a little frosty.
I wish the coaches would have been mic'd up for that. Oh man. So the conversation between Luke and I like you. But I kind of think you see it might be the right side here getting this 6.
So the four that I definitely have circled in like right now. You see how plus the six press no plus the two and a half George under the 44 and a half 45. I think there's a 45 maybe out there and Liberty over the 66 and a half. And then kind of looking potentially at Tulane as well.
Tulsa off that big emotional curve. There's that right there. There's an early in the week like also newly ranked right. Yeah ranked big will come back when I'm wrestling you a Tulane offense.
It's really getting going now. It's playing much better last week against army as well. Like Tulane getting 6 and a half there. That's another one that I'm kind of gravitated to.
And we'll see what happens when I put pen to paper later tonight and do that column. Now I'm ready to go bear with some picks. This didn't now I feel great. Feel great.
I want to go back to your Cincinnati game. We've asked every week you and I have gone back and forth. I'm team Cincinnati your team BYU. This is an absolutely enormous spot for Ritter.
If he's going to be this most approved guy and this and that and you know all the things you want here you've got to do it in this spot against this wretched of a defense. On the other side I was looking at some numbers because this is a question I had for you. UCF total offense lead the country obviously 619 yards per game. The record is 624 by Houston in 89.
Is that Andre Ware or is that Klinger? What year? 89. You know I was Klingler.
Greg was. Andrew Wanna has me? No, no, no. You know I was 100.
Yeah, that's right. I thought right. Yeah, you know I was going to go over 90. And these teams like going back and forth.
Gabriel's obviously sits the course since I had him against Memphis that awful loss. That's why I think I'm a little still man at UCF. No offense. Last three games.
Gabriel's no picks nine touchdowns. UCF's three and all in those three games after 44 game against those three teams here to three Tulane, Houston Temple last four games for Cincinnati. They are they played SMU Memphis Houston and ECU who have combined 15 to 13 record. They're averaging one of the game 46 13.
The over under here is 63. And I think you need this game to go over for UCF to cover. Does that make sense to you? Yes, it does make sense to me.
Okay. I this is another game Paul Stone and we're talking about he was saying Cincinnati three. There was actually talks of some guys in other books that before anything happened Saturday, I'll possibly pick them and I just it's now to see it's six. That's another one that that that's eye opening and that that scares me away, man.
It's I don't know if it smells or it's just all right. The time has come for Cincinnati because this is it. I think they have they have Temple left. I think they have they got a couple games left that are still.
Uh they got they got the Tulsa residual game as well. Yes, they're at UCF this week next week at Temple and then at Tulsa the fourth. Oh, that's a Friday night. That's an enormous game.
Oh, nice. All right. Because December 5th all I care about all I care about is Akron and Bowling Green. Oh, yeah.
That is all I care about. It's going to be a beautiful mess. Speaking of the Mac, I was talking with our Mac insider last night after I congratulated on his team on one of the wagons. That's our Mac.
Does our Mac insider have any information for us? Then we can work on he's working on it. But he told me this story about the wagon wheel that I have to share with people. He was looking for the link to the story.
He believes it was in the late 90s. Okay. But the story is the wagon wheel was lost for a few years at one point. A homeless man found it in the woods and carried it out around until he saw a guy with an Akron football shirt and he gave it to him.
That happened. That people is matching. That's what it's all about. The wagon wheel was lost in the woods once and a homeless man found it and gave it to a man with an Akron shirt on.
That's all you need to know about the wagon. You know, this, you know, our Mac insider like why is he not writing it? Why is he not doing this feature? Because well, he's looking to confirm with sources, but he's dead set on that being true.
And then of course, as the time comes digging, he's digging in on the NBA draft tonight. So he will get back to us on it. Like this is this is this is a Rinaldi Gino special for December 5th. Oh my god.
How good is that? So good. All right. Where were we?
You gave some pics. We got wagon wheel. We got Mac. I gave you a talk about Cincinnati.
You see that. Now you thought that note or you see you have to cover. It was going to have to go over and Paul Stone had bought maybe this going to be on for your so five and a half or six and then and then we got to the wagon wheel. All right.
