Wait for It

from Epiphany for the Everyday · host Emily Hill

What do you do when you finally get an answer from God, but it isn’t the answer you expected? Habakkuk asked God why He seemed silent in the face of injustice. Then God answered. But instead of making everything more clear, God’s response left Habakkuk with even more questions. So Habakkuk takes his place on the watchtower and waits. In this episode, we explore what it means to wait when God’s timing feels slow, His plan doesn’t make sense, and we can’t see what He’s doing. Waiting isn’t necessarily evidence that God is absent or doing nothing. Sometimes faith means staying close, continuing to pray, and trusting God with the parts of the story we can’t yet see. Because we may want the whole plan, but God often gives us just enough for the next step. Sometimes faith isn’t about knowing what comes next. It’s about trusting the One who is seeing it through.
