Wait! More Women Are Getting Colorectal Cancer in Their 30’s & 40’s?! A Chat w/ Dr. May & Candace
from Her Side by Flourish Heights · host Valerie Agyeman
What's going on?! Colorectal cancer is on the rise in young adult women in their mid-30's and 40's. Why is nobody talking about it? In fact, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer in women after breast and lung cancer. Last week the White House hosted their Cancer Moonshot Forum which covered key topics such as colorectal cancer screening, prevention, disparities, treatment, innovation and support. Following the forum, I attended a reception hosted by an organization called Fight Colorectal Cancer where I interviewed today's special guests, Dr. May and Candace, two phenomenal changemakers in the industry working tirelessly to keep Americans healthy. Together, we discussed the statistics, symptoms you should know about, nutrition & lifestyle tips you should consider and most importantly, how to advocate for yourself! You're going to love this episode. LISTEN UP! The Flourish Heights Podcast was made for women, by women. To be empowered in health starts with a true connection with your body. Join Valerie Agyeman, Women’s Health Dietitian as she breaks through topics surrounding periods, women’s nutrition, body awareness, and self-care.
