Wait on God: 10/6/24
from NcourageMe: Daily Encouragement · host NcourageME
Monday June 10/24 Topic: Waiting on God It was William McDowell who penned these lines: I don't mind waiting I don't mind waiting on you Lord, I need you Yes, I need you Jesus Jesus I don't mind waiting I don't mind waiting on you Waiting at times is one of the hardest things to do. We murmur and complain about the task or even act impulsively. I have learned that waiting helps us to build the characteristic of being patient. The race is not for the swift nor the battle for the strong but those who can endure to the end. Let's look at one of my favorite insects, the butterfly. Before it transitions into the beautiful and colorful flying insect, the caterpillar has to stay in its cocoon for about 10-14days. Studies show that it can be longer depending on the type of species it is. Why do we despise our isolation moments? Why do we get so impulsive and act prematurely? If you recognize that you are in your season of waiting, endure it to the end. The word of God in Isaiah 40:31 says "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." The wait will be worth it in the end. Let us keep on trusting in God, and He will carry us through every storm of life victoriously. Declare this with me today: Lord, no matter how the situation may seem at the moment, I will wait upon you patiently. Lord, help me not to allow those impulsive ways of mine to get in the way of the blessings you have in store for me. I will wait upon you. Let us heed and believe His instructions because beautiful things come from waiting. God bless you, and have a wonderful day 😊.
