Waiting © 2022

They burned a hole into your brain just to keep you on track gave you a brand new jacket tied behind your back A padded out apartment beyond all of your dreams where you could live the way you want but no one heard your screams Mother dear, I’m still waiting, waiting waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting to meet you for the first time in my life. They filled you veins with heavy drugs to keep you nullified and now you look right through me your invisible little child Mother dear, I’m still waiting, waiting waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting to meet you for the first time in my life. I’m still waiting, waiting waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting to meet you for the first time in my life. www.jasonmarkyates.com
