Waiting in the Joy of God's Promises

Advent is a time for waiting, but it's also a season of trying to cram long to-do lists in our already overbooked calendars. Maybe like me, you feel anxious by all the expectations you've placed on your calendar to have everything done and perfect for the holidays. Expectations can leave us feeling anxious because what happens when life changes? You can plan everything perfectly, but people can get sick, winter storms come, and travel plans can change. Maybe we could learn to view life through expectant joy instead of expectations. How do we do that? We can learn from the stories of Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna. In the midst of all the uncertainties of life, you can rest in the certainty of God's promises to you. They are unshakeable.
