One of the ways to wait rightly in your waiting season is to be on purpose while waiting. Rather than sulking over what hasn't happened(the answered prayers) get into purpose and keep doing what God has called you into. Let your answered prayers find you in the middle of purpose and that is when we can say you have truly waited.
