"Wake me up when September ends"

from The Law Teaser · host Faria de Oliveira Advogados

"As my memory rests But never forgets what I lost" United States Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg passed away last friday, on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, aka, the Jewish New Years Eve. After 87 years, 13 years serving on the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit and 27 years as a Supreme Court Justice, appointed in 1993 by President Bill Clinton, RBG not only brilliantly ruled on many iconic cases such as Ledbetter v. Goodyear, Burwell v. Hobby Lobby, Bush v. Gore and Shelby County v. Holder., as well as she was the second woman to be appointed to the US Supreme Court. Beside all that, she was known to be a fervent defender of women’s rights and gender equality. But her impact on American law began years before that. For further informations, other cases and legal news, listen to our podcast this week! Available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Other news on this week's Podcast: - Operation Lex (Portugal); - Jewish settler sentenced to life (Israel); - LGPD has entered into force last friday (Brasil).
