Walking To Bethlehem - Story of Christmas (Part 1)

Introduction: As an American there is so much for us to look forward to at the Christmas season. I can remember as a child waiting for the Sears & Roebuck catalog to arrive! Each year it would usually, arrive sometime after Thanksgiving. The cover would be some wonderful, Christmas photograph in that Glossy Paper that the catalog was made of. Full color and the excitement of the season would begin to build.  My brother and I would each get a Felt Tip Marker. Usually, mine was Red & his Blue.  For the entire month, day after day we could lay on the floor and dream about what we wanted for Christmas. We were allowed to circle anything that we wanted for Christmas in the catalog. I probably didn’t realize it at the time, but that anticipation brought as much joy to the Christmas season as anything back then. Another great thing about Christmas back then was my family. It must have been a less busy time in America, or at least in my little corner of America. Every year, all of my family seemed to have plenty of time to stop, gather at the grandparents houses and spend time together. I would see both sets of cousins and we would eat different foods, sleep on pallets, open gifts etc. It seemed that the world would pause for Christmas back then. Christmas: So, we have two Sunday Mornings in which we can look forward to the Biblical account of Christmas. The birth of our Saviour! That birth is what Christmas is all about!
